A ficcy in celebration of my Kenji-kun's birthday...

Sep 23, 2008 19:57

*sighs* I am soooo going to hell for doing this, but I wrote a Yu Takahashi/Kenji Matsuda pairing fic. It's nothing BAD, it's just a little insinuation at the end but I had this idea hit me that I just HAD to do. It could easily be a Jiro/Yuri fic if I changed the names around, lol.
...besides, the mental imagery of Yu-chan was just too good to pass up.

So without further ado:

Title: Present
Series: Uh...Kamen Rider Kiva actors? Is that a fandom in it's own right?
Pairing: Yu Takahashi/Kenji Matsuda
Rating: PG
Summary: " “ Wait, wait. Stop! Breathe,” Kenji held up a hand to stop her tirade of babble. “Kouhei said? You actually listened to Kouhei?”

Or...Yu-chan risks her dignity to give her present to Kenji-kun XD

Warning: Yu Takahashi is 17. Here in the states, that's illegal, but in her own country, she is of legal age. While I don't think anything like this would EVER happen between her and Kenji...I love the two of them to pieces and am just having fun. It's meant to be sweet. It's his birthday after all ^_^

Present

She felt completely ridiculous, standing outside Matsuda-san’s apartment door, fidgeting with the hem of her outfit, reaching out to rap her knuckles on the door only to draw back her hand as if burned.
Just do it already. You’re gone through so much trouble already as it is…
Her inner-voice, however confident, did nothing for her nerves.
In all honesty, Yu Takahashi couldn’t believe that she had gone through with this plan as far as she already had.
It had started with a conversation:

“ It’s a damn shame,” Kouhei Takeda had mentioned, eying Yu-chan up and down several times in a manner that made her self-conscious.
“ What do you mean?” she finally asked, quietly.
“ Kenji will never get to see you in that…” smirking mischievously, the man who played one of her onscreen love-interests sauntered off, leaving her blushing furiously and entertaining thoughts that she most likely shouldn’t be entertaining.

It was pretty obvious to everyone but Matsuda-san that Yu had gained a humongous crush on him. She wasn’t certain when it happened, exactly. It might have been when they had first met, before filming, for rehearsals, and her breath had been taken away as she realized he was even better looking in person. It might have been when they were filming episode 13 of Kiva, spending their time off camera playing around in the pool, laughing and splashing at each other, Kenji allowing Yu-chan to wrap her arms around his shoulders from behind and hold onto him, resting her head against his as they listened to their director’s instructions. More likely, it was that disastrous wedding fantasy shoot for episode 22. And by disastrous…Yu had always considered herself completely professional, but seeing Matsuda-san in that tuxedo, looking at her in a way that made her forget that they were both acting, caused her to constantly mess up the takes because she wasn’t paying proper attention. And one of those takes she had messed up deliberately, bridging the gap between the two of them and letting him actually kiss her.
To say that it left her director frustrated, Matsuda-san slightly confused and herself very confused, as well as embarrassed, was the understatement of the year.

Her girlfriends had been the first to catch her on it, teasing her about having a crush on her co-star when she raved about how wonderful he was. Kouhei had figured it out on his own rather quickly, but unlike his character, who would chase hers to the ends of the earth, he seemed to take pride in trying to play matchmaker.

In fact this whole scenario had been planned, in part, by Kouhei, via a long phone conversation when she had revealed to him what had happened between her and Kenji at the birthday party that had been held a few night’s before.

“ So wait,” she could practically hear Kou shuffling to lie on his stomach on his couch. “He has no actual plans for his actual birth day ?”
Yu shook her head. “That’s what he told me. His family will come out next weekend but nothing actually planned for the 23rd.”
Kouhei was silent far longer than she liked.
Her eyes narrowed. “What are you thinking?”
“ This is perfect!” he suddenly crowed loudly, causing her to hold the phone away from her ear with a grimace. “You have to go over there and give him a present.”
“ But I already gave him one,” she stated, confused.
“ Yu-chan…do you want a chance to confess your feelings to him or not? It’s a once and a lifetime opportunity,” and then Kou chuckled darkly. “In fact…I think I know just the thing you can get him…”
“ Why do I fear where this is going?”

In the end she wasn’t sure she should be grateful for Kouhei’s help in getting her to look the way she did or alarmed at his expertise in the matter.

But that’s how she found herself outside Kenji’s door, gaining strange looks from people that lived in the building when they passed her by.
Okay, at least knock on the door so he can let you inside and then you don’t have to embarrass yourself further out here.
Taking the cupcake out from the bakery box (she had stopped by on her way to his place…riding the train that morning had been an adventure to say the least), Yu took a deep breath and knocked loudly on Matsuda-san’s door.
For a few seconds she heard nothing, and then shuffling and then his voice, muffled, calling. “Just a moment!”
The door opened, revealing her co-star and crush, standing there with a toothbrush in his mouth and a towel draped over his neck.
Wait. Rephrase. Her half naked co-star and crush was standing there with a toothbrush in his mouth and a towel draped over his neck, his still damp hair ruffled, beads of water still glistening on his skin, clearly having just took a bath.
“ Ah, Takahashi….” He froze in his tracks, his eyes widening.
Whatever carefully planned speech she had memorized flew out of her mind instantly and she just stood there, jaw dropping slightly.
Slowly, Kenji removed the toothbrush from his mouth, his eyes raking over her. “What are you wearing?”
If anyone had been lucky to pass by with a camera, they would have captured Yu Takahashi in a frilly, black and white maid’s costume, her hair done up in curled pigtails, cat ears placed on her head, bell collar around her neck, standing there holding out a cupcake to a half-naked and slightly wet Kenji Matsuda.
It would have been the tabloid image of the year, surely.
Unable to think properly, thanks to the handsome actor’s natural sex appeal, Yu-chan tried to cover for the situation as best she could, bowing and holding the cupcake with the words Happy Birthday written across it.
“ O-tanjoubi omedetou,” she stammered.
It was silent for several seconds, and then she heard a light chuckle.
Yu looked up to see that Matsuda-san’s shoulders were shaking from laughter, and finally he just let his head fall back and he laughed heartily, clutching at his stomach and doubling over as mirth took over.
She felt her ears burn with embarrassment and, deciding she had made enough of a fool of herself for one day, she turned to go.
“ Wait,” Kenji stated breathlessly, catching her arm. “I’m sorry Takahashi-san it’s just…that outfit…” and he started laughing again, but pulled her inside his apartment.
He gestured for her to sit on his couch while he headed to the kitchen, still chuckling, and returned seconds later with some hot tea, handing one cup to her and keeping the other for himself.
“ Okay…” he breathed out slowly, effectively calm. “Now. Explain.” He gestured up and down at her get-up.
Where she had been speechless before, her embarrassment caused everything to come pouring out. “Well Kouhei said that you were disappointed at not seeing me in the maids outfit when we did the net movies and then you mentioned to me at your party that you didn’t actually have plans for today, so Kou got it in his head to-
“ Wait, wait. Stop! Breathe,” Kenji held up a hand to stop her tirade of babble. “Kouhei said? You actually listened to Kouhei?”
Flushing pink, she nodded.
Another chuckle escaped him, but this one was sardonic. “Okay, rule number one: never listen to Kouhei, it will always end up with you getting in trouble. Trust me, I know.”
Yu lowered her head, mortified. “I can’t believe he convinced me to wear this thing…”
“Well, that thing I don’t mind so much,” Kenji slid closer; reaching out and tilting her chin so she would look him in the eyes. “It’s making you feel uncomfortable that bothers me. For which I am already planning revenge on Kouhei, don’t worry.”
“ Revenge? Can I take part?”
“ Of course…it will involve stuffing him in this lovely outfit of yours,” he grinned.
Her embarrassment melted away at the kind expression he gave and she giggled. “I’m afraid it probably won’t fit. I’m much taller than he is.”
“ Perhaps he’ll be grateful the skirt will cover more,” Matsuda-san glanced down, towards her long athletic legs, exposed by the fluffy skirt she wore.
Her temperature rose slightly. He was actually checking her out . Hard not to do given what she was wearing, sure, but…
Kenji tore his eyes away from her legs, catching himself and clearing his throat self-consciously. “I’m…going to put on some actual clothes. I’ll be right back,” and he made a hasty retreat to his bedroom.
Yu-chan smiled, a bit more at ease now, and secretly thrilled that she had succeeded in distracting him. She placed the cupcake, still in her hand, on the table and reached into one of the pockets of the dress, from which she produced a small, wrapped gift.
While she waited for her host to return, she glanced around his apartment. Neater than she would have guessed off the bat, simply furnished; it seemed to fit him.
Kenji came out from the bedroom, rubbing at his hair with the towel but now dressed in jeans and a blue button down shirt, opened liberally at the collar.
He plopped down on the couch next to her.
Smiling, she handed the gift to him. “Here. Happy Birthday. Again.”
“ Yu-chan…” he dropped the formality, flooring her by both calling her by her first name and adding the affectionate suffix. “You already got me something.”
“ It’s your actual birthday Kenji-kun,” she relished the sound of his name upon her tongue. “ Besides…I didn’t like the idea of you being all by yourself today. I’m glad I stopped by, even if it did mean walking around in public in this get-up.”
He laughed softly. “Well I thank you for your bravery then…” and, taking the present in his hands he unwrapped it carefully.
Dark eyes widened as he unwound the leather cord, the jade pendant dangling in front of him. The precious stone was carved into the kanji of his name, and he looked over at the one who gave it to him, breathing her name. “Yu-chan…it’s beautiful. It must have cost a fortune.”
“ Not really,” she lied, thrilled at his clearly touched reaction. “It’s just something I found that obviously reminded me of you.” Again, a lie as she had spent hours the day before with Kouhei searching for the perfect gift.
“ Well I love it…thank you so much,” he nearly knocked the breath out of her when he lay a sweet kiss on her cheek in gratitude, and then moved to try the pendant on, when she caught it with her fingers and plucked it away from him.
“ Here…I want to put it on you,” she leaned forward, draping the pendant across his neck and clasping it gently. The motion caused her long dark hair to brush across the bare skin revealed by his open collar and he had to suppress a shudder.
She tugged herself away only to find him staring at her, his handsome features soft, a tender expression gracing them, those soft looking lips only a hairsbreadth away.
Yu’s breath caught in her throat when Kenji’s fingers brushed her hair away from her eyes, tracing at her forehead, their eyes meeting.
She wasn’t really sure if it was her that moved, or him, but in the next instant their lips were brushing innocently against each others, her hands coming to rest upon his chest as she lost herself in the moment, unaware that anything else existed save for him.
Yu was the one to pull away.
“I…I’m sorry, that was uncalled for- she began only to be cut off when Kenji’s arms wrapped around her and tugged her back for a much more passionate kiss.
She moaned against his mouth, her arms wrapping around his neck and holding him close as he held her tightly, his fingers tangling in her hair and a soft sigh escaping him as they embraced ardently.
This time, he was the one to drag himself away, a playful smirk crossing his features. “ I’m in serious trouble…”
“ How so?” she asked quietly.
“ You, in that outfit…there’s no way I can keep my hands off you and there’s no way I want to,” he murmured, nuzzling against her, before saying the words that she had been longing to hear. “I like you, Yu-chan.”
She grinned. “ Well that’s perfectly fine with me, one: because I like you too, and two: because I’d really, really like you to keep your hands on.”
He chuckled as he kissed her again, lowering her gently onto the couch, settling on top of her. “We’ll both be in serious trouble then…but it’s definitely the best birthday gift anyone could give me.”
“ You’ll have to thank Kouhei then…as I said, his idea,” she giggled.
“ Oh I’ll thank him…after killing him,” his voice lowered to a husk and she decided talking was definitely over-rated.

The End

...and yes, I would gladly embarrass myself in the manner Yu-chan did if it were for Kenji's birthday. Absolutely no problem there actually...
