library card!!
i have a library card!

i haven't been to the library in probably 5 or 6 years. i went to the harold washington library here in downtown chicago. it's about 3 blocks away from where i work. i owed about $6 in fines and $1 to get a new card...coincidentally, exactly what i had in my wallet!
omg. the building is giant. it takes up a whole city block. thre are 7 floors of books. i think most of them are reference books of one type or another.
there are rows and rows of fiction. rows 37 through 88 contain all the fiction, be it science fiction, fantasy or other fiction, plus they have other shelves scattered around the floow with paperbacks.
the only think i object to is the fact that most of the books are hard covers. ugh! they are so heavy!! but they are free so i'm not going to complain about it again.
they have tons of cj cherryh! so many i haven't ever seen at the book store!
i had book overload yesterday!
i'll be going very often.
ok...leaving work now...i'm off to summerdance!
