I'm doing better than most. I'm not bragging. I'm really not. But, if I'm doing well, it has nothing to do with the loudest or even the youngest of us. In all reality, it was Marius who taught me most about surviving on my own. How to grow my wealth, how to grow my art. How to live without a father.
He taught me how to be man. On my own. Not like Armand. So much talent, so much strength, and all lost on a boy who's only ever wanted to be a kept man. A whore.
At least Marius wanted more for me. At least I wanted more for myself.
I travel, these days, in search of friends. People who, if I were to spend ten weeks or ten years with them, would inspire, encourage, love. In that respect, the youngest of us are the finest.
