Survey
I've posted a survey about two years back and used it in my seminar paper (called "Homosexual aspects in The Lord of the Rings films and how the fans received it"). Now, I'm actually writing on my 'Magisterarbeit' (similar to a master's thesis) and I would be very grateful for your help.
The thesis will be called "Transmedial Narrative: Fanfiction and The Lord of the Rings" and I will try to demonstrate how fanfictions are an example of transmedial storytelling, going from books to movies to fanfictions and beyond.
First of all, it will help me a lot with my research if any of you can point me to stories (containing Legolas/Aragorn) which are initiated by (or contain) scenes from the book or - preferably - the movie.
Also, here's the slightly modified survey from two years ago, it'd be great if you take a moment to give some answers. All comments will be screened, or send it to my email vampirebitch@web.de
And, even if you have taken the survey two years ago, feel free to do it again. :) Since last time there were so many requests, I'll put up the thesis when it's done, if there are people actually interested in it (officially it should be done by end of September...).

1. How do you define yourself: woman, man, trans? (No offence intended!)
2. Are you: gay/lesbian, heterosexual, bisexual, bi-curious? (No offence intended!)
3. How old are you?
4. Do you know more women or more men in the LotR fandom? Do you know any man who actually participates in the fandom?
5. How did you get into the LotR fandom? How did you get into any fandom at all / 'how did it start'?
6. Have you read the books? If so, do you compare the books and films, or can you distinguish between the two and see the films evolving from the books?
7. Why do you like slash? Is there a special attraction about slash stories/pictures/etc. to you?
8. What makes Viggo/Orlando and/or Aragorn/Legolas so special for you?
9. Which rating do you prefer in general?
10. Is there a special 'attribute' you like in your stories, e.g. Mpreg, bondage, Wingfircs, etc.? If yes, what is it, and what makes it so special and interesting to you?
11. Do you only read stories or do you also write them?
12. If you're a writer yourself and if you've ever written a story that connected to a certain scene in LotR (movies or books) to the beginning of your story: What makes you write your fanfiction from that very special point on? (Can you please provide a link to the fanfiction, or give examples?)
