“y’know, I’m pretty sure that vampire that comes in here all the time is a medium….Maybe we need to ask him for some advice. Or help. I think they do that kind of thing...for money I mean.”
Aishe didn’t need to ask whom Jacob was talking about. His ability to see a persons (or in this case, vampires) aura allowed him to see the very creature every time he was near. Most humans have a nice aura. Just a few colors that changed depending on state of mind and mood. This vampire (Aisheka was pretty sure he knew his name, but would never admit that) was brilliant. His aura shone so bright and was so vast that it almost hurt to look at. Aishe loved it. It reminded him of what it was like to see things for real, not just the pale echoes of life he saw now.
“See they have this agency, I guess. I’ve heard them talking about it…the other one is in charge. I guess you have no idea what I’m even talking about. Oh wait! He left me his card just the other day. I’ll get it!” Jacob got up before Aishe had a chance to disagree. He waited patiently for Jacob to return and thought about seeking “professional help” for his problem.
On one hand he might not be able to afford the price. A professional cleansing could be expensive, especially if a ritual of some kind was involved. On the other, Aishe had never heard of a vampire who was a medium before. Any kind of metaphysical or psychic ability usually died with human and didn’t carry over into the vampire. How on earth was he supposed to perform a cleansing ritual if he couldn’t actually handle anything blessed? It was worth looking into just for curiosities sake…plus Aishe would love the chance to talk to him. It had been so long since finding him the first time. If it was even the same man from before. He was dying to find out. And of course getting rid of his ghost would be a great, added bonus!
He was completely convinced it was a perfect plan when Jacob came back.
“Found it! It was the pocket of my jacket. I thought I’d put it in my wallet…. Anyway, the address is on here. It’s not too far away, the bus would take you there and it might only be about 20 minutes away.”
Aishe stood up, looking determined, “that’s perfect! I’ll go tonight!”
“Tonight? Already? Don’t you want to wait until it’s not so…late? I mean, they might not be accepting clients or something.” Jacob sounded a little worried, and Aishe smiled reassuringly at his friend.
“It’s not late, theyre vampires aren’t they?” Aishe said with a dismissive wave of his hand. “They probably haven’t even woken up yet! Besides, I want to go now and get it over with, I mean, you were right. I have to see about getting rid of my…problem. And there is no better time like the present!”
Jacob handed over the card. “Just be careful, alright? It’s already dark out, and it’ll be dangerous out there.”
“I know, but I’ll be fine. The driver will know where to go, and I won’t have to walk very far. “
“Call me if you can, when you get home. I won’t be able to get to sleep later if I don’t know you’re ok! After all if something happens, it will be my fault for sending you.”
“I will. Thanks Jacob. I really...appreciate your help. And friendship.” Things were getting mushy now. Both Jacob and Aisheka were a little embarrassed.
“Hey no problem! I just mentioned it, you’re the one who has to trek all over town and talk to vampires!”
“Ha ha! You’re right! And I had better get at it, or it really will be too late. See you later!”
“Bye”
Uriel watched Aisheka walk down the broken sidewalk toward the bus stop. He couldn’t help feeling a little nervous, after all, he was essentially sending an innocent person off to a coven of vampires. An innocent blind person, and alone no less. True, Aishe was half demon, but Uriel was fairly certain that the demon part of him was as harmless and naïve as the human part. He shivered, and hoped Aishe knew what he was getting into, because Uriel sure as hell didn’t.
This is meant to be a work of fiction, any resemblance to any persons living or dead is totally a coincidence. so there. and be warned, this nor any previous stories has yet to be edited. ever.
