Creature feature
I was going to post this to my blog (which I'm not sharing with people yet...it's too new) but the stupid site was down *frowny face* so I'm putting it here. cause LJ never fails. *cough*
This is my fiction, so my rules. Deal with it. I'm not kidding, I'm tired of being told my Angel mythos in incorrect...it's spot on dammit, cause I made it up therefor it can't be wrong. It's FICTION not fact, and this is my fictional universe where all my characters do what I want.
Now that that's over with...
Vampires - Duh. They're the main focus of the story, I has lots. None of them sparkle, some of them drink blood and yes, they eat human food. Sue me. They're my main characters, I'd be bored if I couldn't draw a cupcake and coffee cup every once in a while. They don't run around with their fangs hanging out and the stake has to be wood.
Angels - Probably my second main focus. They aren't allowed to breed but find ways to get around that ;)
They tend to look like people (go figure) and usually try to blend in. So, like the vamps and their fangs, the wings stay hidden. They too like the foods. Mostly sweets.
Demons - No rules, no regulations. That guy on the subway next to you could be a demon. Not the crazy chick though, there aren't many female demons. Why else would they keep coming here? The food? Well, maybe....but mostly the womens.
Hellhounds - Twisted dog-looking things (NOT WERE-ANYTHINGS) that are like the minions of hell. They hunt, kill and eat unless directed by higher demons, or even humans when summoned. Sometimes they slip out on their own, but usually they're controlled. Technically they're demons, but I thought they should get their own description cause they're always running amok somewhere.
Shape-shifters - No pouty, whiney, imprinty, happy-to-be-wolves werewolves in my story. They're huge, they're scary, they're cursed and they are monsters. They come out during the full moon and will tear you apart. If you're unfortunate enough to survive, next full moon, it's your turn. Other creatures can shape-shift (faeries, witches and demons mostly) but there are different rules for them.
Faeries - I can't do them in a small paragraph. Elves, trolls, sprites, pixies, ogres, goblins and god knows what else is out there D: They could show up anywhere at any time and they don't like iron.
Witches, sorcerers, other mage-types - Some people are born with magic, others learn it. Mage-types tend to live longer than normal humans, though no one knows quite why....
Psychics - The generic term to describe someone with any number of abilities: Telepathy, telekinesis, pyrokenisis, empathy, sensitivity, clairvoyance, mediumship, precognition, channeling, technopathy, seers, fortune telling, aura reading, other. These abilities occur mostly in women, and tend to develop around puberty, sometimes earlier. Many people do not survive their "first time" as it tends to be stressful physically as well as mentally. Depending on the strength of their abilities their life spans may not be normal length (they die young). Psychics are classified by level, 5 being the strongest and rarest, 1 being the weakest. Level 4 and above are required to be accompanied by a Handler at all times for both their saftey and the safety of those around them. Handlers are trained to handle any incident that may occur related to the psychic in question.
Psychic abilities normally only occur in humans. Non humans use more magic. Vampires are unable to support such abilities due to their brains being technically dead. Of course there are always exceptions ;)
Zombies - corpse raised by a necromancer to do his/her bidding. The decaying process is stopped. They feel no pain and have no inhibitions and do whatever they're told. Usually slow and shambling.
Virus Zombies - Zombacolypse now. These are the scary ones. They're infected and will infect you. They go after flesh and nothing will stop them except a shot to the brain. Destroy the brain and you're good. Unless you already got infected...cause there's no cure. Virus Zombies start off fast (a la Dawn of the Dead remake), and eventually when they start rotting will slow down. Unfortunately they rot slowly, since the virus, a nice man-made engineered thing, was created with vampire blood.
Redeads - Not sure if I'm going to use them but my drawings are kind of cool so I'll include them anyway. Creatures made from parts of dead human beings. They were once a part of some horrible experiments but escaped and kind of learned how to...breed.
Ghosts/spirits/haunts/other - Shadows of what once was. Mostly they hang out around places that were important to them in life and
