Presentation Help. What is a Homosexual?
With my AP class we were assigned an oral presentation on an essay we chose from a book we have.
I chose Andrew Sullivan's "What is a Homosexual?"
The presentation at the maximum is 45 mins long and requires certain parts of it.
There are parts I have already filled out but blanks ones as well. I need help thinking of what I can do.
Essay Overview/Essay Lecture: (Discussing the essay and whatnot)
Dressing Up: I am going to not wear any black, do my make-up normally and make the point that homosexuals are normal human beings that are no different than anyone else.
Group Activity: It has to do with being dregraded and all kinds of prejudice as well to show a glimpse of what it's like.
Movie clip: I'm showing a clip from the movie "Philadelphia" with Tom Hanks. (An excellent movie btw)
Song: ??? I am thinking of possibly and most likely a song by Tatu. I haven't found a song that is derogitory about homosexuals that is decently appropriate. Plus, it would make a point of also pointing out lesbians. I would GREATLY appreciate any other ideas or artists.
Food: ??? (It's required to bring in a food related to the essay that is mature and relevant. I was thinking about possibly doing a meal that Tom Hanks's lover makes him in Philadelphia.) But I NEED SOME IDEAS!
My Choice: ??? Free reign on this one. I have NO idea what to do. I at first thought of bringing someone in that wanted to, but I wouldn't want them to be showcased for being gay in front of everyone. Another idea I got was to make a collage of famous homosexual people. Ideas DEFINATELY welcome!
ANY IDEAS WELCOME! But please, be mature. I wanted to smack the hell out of the people who said I should bring in hotdogs for the food.
