As the last discussion post went by peacefully, I figured I could make another one, I'm rather curious. This time it will be Zero-centric instead. :)
If he's your favourite character, why do you like him? When did you decide he's your favourite?
Alternatively, if you dislike him or are neutral about him, why?
Please, stay polite, I don't want to see

I enjoy the underdog characters, characters who struggle with their flaws. I liked Zero's insecurities, it reflected his position and his struggle, it gave him a chance to need somebody and showed he really needed Yuuki's support even though he didn't want it. I adore how much Zero and Yuuki both didn't want to rely on each other but both wanted to help the other.
I love how Zero always knew it wasn't Yuuki's fault about what she is. Yet I like that he was able to take his anger out on her. Its not realistic to shelter the one you love from the worst of yourself. They are the ones you are most vulnerable to.
I like Zero for not forcing his feelings on Yuuki and never expecting anything from her. But I really feel his yearning desire for her.
I love everytime he gets to save a little girl. I love how gentle he is with them. I like how he begrudgingly helps/saves the big girls too.
I also enjoy his chemistry with the other vampires, especially Aidou. They're so fun to watch, we need lots more of that.
I used to love that he was a hunter, but I don't really like the hunters anymore.
I do love that he's hot, although, I didn't think so at the beginning, since I didn't really like the art all that much.
I don't really like tsundere characters much, they often have such a fake reason to push others away, but I felt Zero was really justified as a character. He was stuck in the middle, not a human, just a doomed vampire cpoupled with his fear of losing everything actually seems justified to make him afraid of getting close to anyone.
I like his flaws, his prejudices against vampires, his rage and anger, because he's just a kid. I kinda grieve for the lost gentle soul that he once was and I love the fact that he was way too gentle to be a vampire hunter.
I love that he could never bring himself to hate his brother, no matter how hard Ichiru tried, to Zero he's his other half.
His best feature by half is his defiant nature and rebellion. His ability to defy his master (to save Yuuki) and complete and utter disrespect of pureblood vampires. Its so refreshing to see someone who doesn't pander to them.
I love that he can't say no to Yuuki, I love that they're returning to their natural state of being together everywhere. I so look forward to next chapter!
Edit: Because Zero has great chemisty with almost all the characters, he stimulates the characters out of their usual boring manners. Excluding Maria who is too accepting of Zero and Sara who is the same way with everyone.
