Having watched it, the prosecutor Clive is sort of the villain but also not totally evil and Martha,though the heroine, clearly hates herself for defending the rapist and does argue with her pupil about the awful views he has. Hopefully with out ruining anything too much I came away feeling they showed how the system works and that that is horrible and wrong.

I managed to grit my teeth and get through in the end. I'm now on episode 4, and enjoying the show much more :)

Cool. I did actually think it was a brave and important thing they did. I cam away believing the man was guilty and got away with it thanks to the jury's prejudices. How did you feel?

On the whole the same, but I didn't feel that the stereotypes of the pupil were sufficiently addressed. But I might have missed big chunks due to inability to focus entirely on the show.

It's a shame the BBC don't do trigger warnings, but I did like that it does age warnings by episode rather than series.

But I massively preferred it to a case where the rapist went to jail because it's more realistic this way, and much much more than one where the victim was proved to be a liar.
