Sunday was a busy day with little sleep.
Got home from Stairway late and had about 2,5 maybe 3 hours to sleep before getting up and go to the Themepark (Efteling) with my girlfriend and her collegues. Which was fun.
Last time I been there I was 8 or 9 years old.
We got back just in time to catch a train to Amsterdam to see The Other @ the Winston Kingdom. Those ghouls are one of my favorite horrorpunk bands ever since I first saw them as supportact for Wednesday 13.
Hell we were actually early doors didn't open til 21:00h.
Band didn't hit the stage til 22:30h spoke a while with Rod Usher, the singer of the band before the show.
You know it's a shame that they are so unknown around here. Actually it's a shame that Horrorpunk is such an unknown phenomenon, here in Holland.
I mean back home in Germany they play big venues cramped up with fans and here you should be glad if 30 people show up.
Like when it comes to Horrorpunk, everybody and I mean EVERYBODY knows the Misfits a big part knows Wednesday 13, due to his time with the Murderdolls and that's about it.
And that is such a shame cuz there are so many great bands in this genre, The Other being one of the best.
This was the third time I saw them and and it seems they get better each time I see them.
Completely forgot about bringing my camera with me but now I had the chance to enjoy the show the old fashioned way. Going wild and rocking out hard playing airguitar, banging my head and singing along to each song.
Except for the new songs of the forthcoming album. Can't wait for that one to be released. The new songs sounded awesome!
And even though it was a small crowd, the band was on fire and really made a party of it.
Probably on of the most fun things of the show the unplanned encore of the 2 Misfits classic(k)s; Halloween and We Are 138.
After the show I talked to Sarge von Rock (guitarist) who actually recognized me from the show The Other did in Düsseldorf as support for The Damned last year.
he was kinda bummed he had to work next day so he couldn't stay to long. He still had a 2,5 maybe 3 hour drive ahead of him and the alarmclock would go @ 6:20am or something.
Little did I know that mine would go at 5:30am
But it was all worth it! The show was a blast and I hope to see them back in Holland soon. Hopefully playing for a bigger crowd.
And I hope I can make it to Fiendfest. That would be so awesome!
So support Horrorpunk and put it on the map here in Holland.
