This post has two purposes. First! I know there are other vampires/vampire-hunters/what have in camp. I am not familiar with all those canons! So what I need from you is if you're capable of sensing vampires and generally how vampires work in your canon. Yes, this is partly for my own information, but also so we can figure out how Sanctuary- ( Read more... )

Thought I should pop in here and say that while Faust is NOT a vampire hunter, he is an extensively modified human with a supreme eye for other peoples physicalities- he will be able to tell after observing Tesla that his body is stronger than a 'normal' human being, and far more durable. He won't know he's a vampire per se, but he'll know he's superhuman.

Also, vampires in Guilty Gear verse are... strange. The one that we see is called "Slayer"- he is SUPREMELY powerful, nearly invincible, immune against sunlight, religious symbols and garlic, capable of teleportation, and he has a hot immortal wife whose blood he constantly drains to the point where shes just a withered mummy, only to have her resurrect completely healthy mere moments afterwards. Faust actually names Slayer as a "Nightstalker", so he knows enough about the supernatural to recognize a vampire when he sees one who is reasonably similar to Slayer in bodystructure.

OH man forgot to wrap it up- BASICALLY Guilty Gear is a world which has all kinds of supernatural oddities in it, and from what we've seen there isn't so much a 'race' of being called vampires, as there are a gathering of beings of varied supernatural abilities that stick together solely because they're not human. It's implied in game that Slayer, who has lived for hundreds of years, is the guy who inspired the novel 'Dracula', and so humanity just THINKS there is something called 'vampires', when it's really just him who does the whole 'drink blood and dress like an impeccably good-looking magnificent bastard thing'. SO YEAH.

Basically Faust knows that there are beings who mostly walk around at night and feed on humanity and are supernaturally strong, but there is so much variety inbetween them all that calling them all 'vampires' would be oversimplifying matters. Hence, he just calls them 'Nightstalkers' and lets them correct him if they feel like it.

Sadly, canon tells us very little about the body structure of vampires. They are however, unbothered by garlic/holy water/sunlight/etc but they can't teleport (that ability crops in exactly one individual, and it's not Tesla). I'm assuming that apart from the durability/strength issues he's fairly human on the inside, so if that would ping as vampire feel free to pick up on it.

Also, I don't know if it's anything Faust would pick up on it, but Tesla also has retractable talons! They're a standard vampire trait, in his world.

Yeah, since that's part of Teslas physical body, Faust would most likely know it- he just wouldn't comment on it because that would be rude :)
