Dark Visions - Cassia & Siobhan

Aragorn is having disturbing dreams about his friend Legolas. When he sees the prince’s death in the Mirror of Galadriel he sets out to try to change the future. Yet it seems that the fates, a ring of horse thieves and a deadly venom are determined to conspire against Legolas before his friend can even reach him. Even with Elrond’s help, will Aragorn be able to keep his visions from coming true?

This one has some turns I intensly like. There is for one the beginning with Gandalf. I already said before how I like the Gandalf Cassia & Siobhan write, and here it’s no different. But then the total highlight for me is Aragorn’s and Elrond’s journey to Rohan. It brings Elrond out of his normal surroundings (Lord of Rivendell, being the one with the eybrow of doom and scowling at everone who comes in injured) and shows him still determined but of a lighter mood. I love the father/son interaction here, Aragorn questioning about his “mother” (not Gilraen, but Celebrian) and their little skirmish with orcs. And in the end “Dark Visions” again links the Mellon Chronicles to the info Tolkien gives about Aragorn. Elrond spontanously presents him with a new name (Thorongil, the alias he goes by in Rohan and Gondor) and in the end he joins the Rohirrim.

Oh yes, and by the way, there is some Legolas-near-death-experience:) It isn’t filed under “angst” just for fun!
