Making it Right - Kharessa Bloodrose
The call of the ring arouses dark desires in Aragorn's soul. How will
he bridge the gap he has created once released from the ring's power?
I have found it. I have finally found what I regard the perfect fic concerning an A/A/L love triangle. Or let me rephrase: This is what I always wanted to read in an A/L fic. It is definitely angsty, but for once comes to a happy end and presents a solution to the whole Arwen dilemma that is satisfactory for all characters - and the reader. She's doing all characters justice and in addition the writing is so smooth, there is not one word misplaced in the whole thing.
The story starts out in Moria and goes all the way through well into Aragorn's reign as King of Gondor. Interestingly all the big battles happen on the white space between two chapters. Who needs to read about things we know from the books/films anyway if it isn't used for character development. So even if the settings and timelines change during the story, she focused solely on Aragorn and Legolas (and later on Arwen - to an extent) using everything else (including "minor" characters) as a backdrop. So the reader is constantly either in Aragorn's or Legolas's head, exploring their feelings and fears.
But as always with A/L stories I extremely enjoyed, it's the only one from that particular author. She's written some elfslash stuff which is up on
OEAM, but this is her only A/L piece *sobs*.
