Conversations with the King - athelas63
Aragorn's trip to Ithilien goes awry.
This story has been sitting in my bookmarks for *ages*. But I admit the title doesn't sound very appealing, and the summary is quite non-descript. So I never knew what to expect and always decided to read something else instead. What a mistake! First of all, for all the angst-fans, the first chapters are heavy on the h/c, an excellent description of a near-death Aragorn (*swoons*). Among the best h/c I've ever read. And then it slowly develops into a character study, involving Aragorn, Arwen, Eowyn and Faramir (with a little Eomer as a side-dish). Wonderful character interaction, and the maturity of the author just jumps at you from the pages (especially where love is concerned and in the birthing scenes). It's a joy to read.
