There's no doubt fandom has expanded my horizons, blown them wide open really, but I thought there were some places I wasn't really that in to - see my first post.
However, I've just spent the best part of all my spare time in the last 2 weeks reading some of phantisma 's fic, and it's opened up a whole other world. She (He?) deals with some really strong stuff, but in a way that is kind of really compassionate. So while I would still probably find it very difficult to read about things like bestiality if it were done by most people, I found myself seeing a whole different world from a different angle with her writing. I've still got more to read, and I'm very much looking forward to it. It's taken me a while to square it a bit in my head, but now I have, I'm saying to everyone who hasn't tried it - if you want to start to look at fic about slavery, or bestiality, or other strong subjects, phantisma is a good place to start.
