We're safe
The tornadoes that struck the St Louis area were fortunately not near me. We live in South St Louis County. The twisters were all in North County, about 15 miles away. We had hail and strong winds, but nothing real bad.
On a cheerier note, today we had some praying mantises (mantix?) hatch from their cocoon which was attached to a sage from last year. I'm fairly ignorant of nature. I'd have probably accidentally destroyed the cocoon if Marlin hadn't pointed it out.
They were actually a pale, almost transparent, white. The yellow must have happened in the flash. This is only part of the pic and maybe about 2 inches across in reality.
