Beige

I hadn't done a meme in a while and this one looked interesting. welchva challenged me with beige, saying for some reason that came to mind. I think I know and will explain that it's actually quite appropriate. Surprisingly, I had no problem coming up with more than ten. And I couldn't leave any off.
Yes, I'm almost out of here. I hope to get out of here Thursday or Friday, and then I'll be in Al Udeid for a couple days (sleeping and hanging out online) until I fly back to the States. I think I know and will explain that it's actually quite appropriate. Surprisingly, I had no problem coming up with more than ten. And I couldn't leave any off.
- The color of my ballcap here. In fact, it's light khaki. Over here it's hard to escape that color.
- Most computer equipment. Going back to the early IBM days, computers were beige so they could be sold to governments. It was actually a government regulation that they had to be beige. Not true anymore, but the legacy continues. I have five at my workstation here. All but one are beige.
- Money. In the US, we think it's green. But the background paper of most countries' money is beige. And that's partly why I'm here. Between these three, I can see why welchva thought of beige.
- Muslin. If you go to a play, most of the sets are built on frames covered with muslin cloth.
- Wool. Undyed wool is beige. I used to have this great wool sweater I bought in Portugal.
- Paint in most any new house. That way you don't have to deal with the previous owners questionable taste in color.
- Washed sand on the beach. White and yellow are also common. But most beach sand is beige. Partly because ...
- Most seashells. Wandering the beach for shells can be great fun. They may have some color, but usually they're usually beige.
- Tan M&Ms. Always my favorite back when they made them. Unfairly replaced by the more popular blue.
- Most electric covers. I actually enjoy doing wiring. And if you get a light switch with a built-in light, you get a beige light!
- Beer, specifically pale ale. Which in less than a week I'll be able to enjoy it again.
