As
coolbeans56 pointed out in his blog,
Hurricane Gustav may be headed for
New Orleans just as the
GOP convention opens in
Minneapolis. While Gustav is currently only at tropical storm strength after hitting
Haiti, the
latest five day forecast has it zeroing in just west of New Orleans as a Category 3 hurricane. When
Katrina hit, the center was east of the city. Katrina's worst winds were on the
Mississippi Gulf Coast. Should this continue as forecast and possibly bump up to a Cat 4 or 5 storm, we could be looking at Katrina 2. Or even worse.
