Cars..

If there is one thing that runs deep in my family, its cars! Give us any car and we drive as if we were on the race track and in a ferrari.
Touch wood, none of us have come across any accidents, except the one major accident that I had and that too, I wasnt driving the car. So hows that for a safety record.

Now it may seem strange to those who know me, but surprisingly, when it comes to speed, I am considered to be the slowest amongst my brothers. Yes there is another side to it, and thats the fact that I havent race with any of them recently ;). And I think that I am the fastest now, but its the same debate that we could have when discussing Micheal Schumacher with Aryton Senna. We never had the chance to see both of them at their peak :(

Anyways lets get back to the cars, today I drove my brother's new darling in his life (besides his wife) a Corolla. I must say that he was excited and as soon as he came he handed over the keys to me. Now me being the cynic that I am and also not a Toyota lover. So had a preset impression of what a Toyota should be like. Though I cannot afford these cars, my benchmark of a good car is a german engineered car and the only Japanese manufacturer that I will think of is Honda (Wonder when I will have the dough and the balls to buy one of them :)).

Anyways back to the Corolla. I must say I was impressed. Even though its the lightest car in its class (talking of cars available in India). It still felt pretty solid. Acceleration was decent and more than sufficient for the car. Plush interiors, 6 cd changer with excellent speakers. Amazing gear shift, very short and precise changing of gears, the type you would love to have in a drag (ofcourse you would need to soup up the car ;)). All in all a good family car, with that little extra to get you back to the young and reckless days. But a family car nevertheless is what I would call it. Also it was loaded with ABS, EBD, Air Bags etc.

My thoughts.. maybe I shouldnt be so skeptical about Toyota after all...
