More on hospital date
I phoned the Gynaecology admissions officer at Kings College Hospital today with some queries.
The main query I wanted answered was clarification of the ambiguous statement in the letter about what happens if my op is cancelled due to lack of beds. The admissions officer confirmed that my rescheduled date for admission would be within 28 days of the original date. So my cynicism was misplaced.
She also confirmed that if there were no complications, I would be out of hospital after 3-4 days. However she stressed, as she has to, that I was not to rely on this, that we are not all the same, that some people heal faster than others, and that the decision whether and when to discharge me would be taken by the doctors on the day.
D commented that she has not set her phone to reject my calls yet... :)
