Oh, I don't know. Sorry, I just assumed that everyone read "Stephen" as "Stephen Dedalus-pants." I think that line is from Ulysses. Maybe Anne knows. She was an English major, right?

I bought a copy of A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man at a Friends of the Library sale for 50 cents like 5 years ago and then finally read exactly 1 page of it while we were at Duke Gardens one time. Does that count?

I also have this book on my shelf. Once I skimmed the first couple pages of the critical introduction, and I left it on the bedside table for a couple weeks. When will they develop reading by osmosis?!?!
