Left Behind

Sometimes, it seems that we American's are being left behind.

The rest of the world gets it. They know that peak oil is here and that America is on the way out. That we have created a country that depends on oil like humans depend on oxygen. And that no matter what we do, we are facing a future much different from what the corporate-government-education-media complex has dreampt up for us.

We are being left behind, and we don't even know it. I wish I had a good metaphor to drive the point home. I think perhaps something out of the Darwin Awards might be appropriate.

To make light of tragedy is probably the key to confronting it for many. Releasing those endorphines and getting the mind free to think in new ways.

In my search today for new knowledge and understanding, I happened upon this tasty morsel of informed humor. I suggest it for those who have had a rough time of considering the transition we are now facing.

Perhaps we won't be left behind. After all, we are all in the same boat. The party will continue, it will just be a party unlike any we've attended before.

peakoil, humor, unity
