Really? I always looked forward to the first day of school and hated the rest.

Haha, I love that first picture! I feel like that all the time in the mornings!!!

My mum said I was the last one in the class to stop crying (after a month maybe, oops) - I went to school when I was three and I'm a December kid, which may explain things a little - but the point is, I was okay after that.

Just give Clare a bit more time - she'll be fine :)

Hee... thanks. :) I don't think I cried. :P But I was a very quiet kid in kindergarten.

Yah lor. And I feel so bad that Clare is an end of year kid. I know it won't matter in the long run, but in pre-school, I think it's a pretty big deal!

Don'r worry - I'm sure Clare will get the hang of it. I heard so many winning testimonies abt St. James, I'm sure she's in very good hands. Another of my blog friend's kid is there too. :) Now if only I can find such a good school in the East!!!! Driving myself up the wall trying to find one!

Are you talking about Pat's son? If so, he's in the same classroom as Clare, only in the morning session! :) Have you shortlisted any schools yet?

No not Pat :) I've looked at a couple but some drove me up the wall with the over-kiasu-ness and others with the poor standard of hygiene.

And we are thinking of enrolling nat into a playschool of sorts when he turns 18 mths...just to get his social skills going.

I think at our time, it was just straight to Kindergarten! I didn't even do nursery!

A while back I thought of doing the pre-school at 18 months thing, but I just didn't get down to it and was very worried if she could cope and/or if she would get really good teachers. Truth be told, having taught at that level before, I know how tiring it can get even after an hour, and how teachers can have an 'off' day in which they just don't feel up to it. And back then, I only taught the classes weekly. Also, I have seen teachers in pre-schools in general, and was less than impressed with more than I was impressed with.

Clare was on the waitlist for pre-nursery at St James and was accepted only late last year. I was actually OK if she didn't get the spot and went to nursery instead. But since she was given the spot, I decide to just go for it and see how it goes.
