Today we received our annual reviews. I wasn't looking forward to mine so I made this clear to my office mates and my supervisor from the get-go. I said things like "Can't we just skip this whole review thing? We all know the outcome. I just don't like being yelled at." Of course the review came and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. My boss is lenient and I get to work there for a while longer it seems. I don't know that's a good thing.

At the end of the review an idea struck me; put on a show for my officemates who were patiently waiting for us beyond the door. I opened my locker, got my shoes and backpack in my hands and winked at my boss. I flung open the door with enough force to send it careening into the concrete wall behind it as I stormed out into the work area, my face filled with what I hoped looked like anger and uncertainty. I left the office and stood outside long enough for my act to sink in, and then I returned with a laugh and a grin. They'd all been convinced that I was gone for good and their reviews were yet to be delivered so they were assuming the worst.

Our other location now lacks a lead associate. She was unhappy with her review so she gave her 2 weeks notice. Hopefully someone with a better work ethic will take her place. Time will tell.

Mary Tyler Moore in her Dick Van Dyke days sure was an attractive gal.

It seems most of the people I "Know" are people I've never met and most likely never will. My AIM list has grown considerably since the inception of Hotbutteredfunk.com and I generally have long conversations with people who don't even know my name. Another weird thing is this live cam of mine. Since the URL was posted, the page has gotten over 200 hits and that's like 50 hits a day, which is kind of scary when you think that people are looking at me. Me! There's nothing to see here, I assure you.
