GIANT GLOWING BLUE DONG!!!!
Okay, so that's really not the only thing to be said, but I just had to get it out of the way. I really, really enjoyed the film. Not sure I can say that I love it, but it's very close. Will require further viewings to know for certain. ((Side note: It's weird to realize that ever since iTunes and Netflix came into my life, I judge things on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Furthermore, I still complain to myself that a 5-point scale is just too minimal and doesn't allow for proper gradation of preference.)) The acting was very good, particularly by Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach). I also rather enjoyed the music and thought it fit very well with most of the scenes, though I believe 99 Luftballoons didn't work so well, intro yes but not the main bridge.
So, in other news, I found out the date of the next blackjack class - April 6th. As soon as I got off work Tuesday morning, I put in my application. Tomorrow, I will go and get the transfer approved by the Security and BJ department heads. I'm excited by this. This means I won't be in security much longer. Not that I'm assuming I'll get into blackjack; the last year has taught me not to assume things are any kind of guaranteed. However, several months ago, I decided that if I was unable to get into blackjack, I was going to begin searching for another job. So whether I get into blackjack or not, my time with Winstar Security is coming to a close.
Recently, I find myself being irritated to varying degrees by some of the lazy and slob-ish behavior of one or two of my roommates. This is only noteworthy because I can't help but realize that some of these same behaviors that irritate me now are the very behaviors I myself exhibited not 2 years ago. I know that people change, but it's occasionally a little jarring to find explicit indicators of my own evolution.
Additional note: Unless something comes up, I'll be down in Austin Tuesday evening for the live
Totally Rad Show at Malverde at 6pm. Anybody who wants to go to the show with me are more than welcome. If you're not interested in going to the show, I'm thinking I might hang around through Wednesday, and I'd love to see people. Let me know.
