[For people in CH 3, you might be bewildered to find a body on the stairs between the fourth and fifth floor, sprawled out in what's obviously an uncomfortable position. [ after Xion's talk with Riku, well ... devastated would be a mild word for her emotional state. she hasn't even been able to leave the apartment -- she hasn't got the energy to try to run away. instead she's in their living room, curled up on the couch with her knees drawn up to her chest, looking kind of dazed.

but just glancing at her and you can tell something is deeply wrong. she thinks she should leave, get away before Axel and Roxas find her, but ... but somehow, she just can't find the energy to care. ]

[Well Axel and Roxas aren't even aware of what's happening just yet, seeing how they've been out this afternoon. Roxas opens the door first and enters the apartment, talking to Axel over his shoulder briefly before facing forward and spotting Xion. He stops suddenly and looks her over, knowing that look. [Axel is about to laugh and give Roxas a playful shove but stops when Roxas stops suddenly there in front of him. Confused, he follows Roxas' line of sight and seeing Xion there it's not hard to tell something really bad happened. He has a feeling he knows what it is too, but waits there behind Roxas for Xion to answer.]

[ Xion just stares blankly in their direction for a moment, almost like she doesn't see them at all. Then she gives her head a gentle shake, and her eyes actually focus. But once they do... she can only look at them for a moment before she has to look away again. Her voice is very quiet, even in the silence of the room. ]

Sora fell asleep and won't wake up.

[...yeah, just as he suspected. So that means it's almost time. He wordlessly shuts the front door and leans his back against it, folding his arms over his chest. Roxas probably wasn't going to take this easily, either. He'll step in when he needs to, but right now Xion is going to have to be the one that tells Roxas.]

[ she just ... stares at Roxas. she almost wants to get angry, but she hasn't got the energy for that, either. instead she straight up ignores him, rather unfortunately assuming he's asking how she knows for certain she's going to die. they've been over the topic so many times before, after all, and he wouldn't accept the truth before. it doesn't occur to her that he might be asking about Sora.

so she just looks away after a long, blank moment, burying her face in her knees and ignoring them both. ]

Not long. Riku told me about half an hour ago. I think they found him collapsed on the stairs. [ for the first time her voice betrays emotion as it goes strangely tight. ]

[ now she actually looks at him, some of her feelings finally crossing her face. mostly sadness, and a little confusion. ]

I don't know. I wish I did. Not that it would make any of this better, I just... guess it would be nice to know why. It must have something to do with Luceti, but... I haven't been able to figure out what.

[ as if letting a little emotion show has finally thawed her out, she shifts her position, settling her feet on the floor as she looks at them both. ]

... I'm sorry. I just don't know what to think, or do. Just waiting is going to be ... hard.
