[For people in CH 3, you might be bewildered to find a body on the stairs between the fourth and fifth floor, sprawled out in what's obviously an uncomfortable position. [What a coincidence! Riku was just about to head out as ewll, but, wouldn't you know, his best friend happens to be out of commission! Naturally, he's going to rush over and see what's up, immediately looking from Sora to Ted. Before he says anything, he pulls out his journal to contact Kairi, and once that's done, he approaches Ted.]

What happened here?

[Kairi was upstairs in their apartment, but as soon as she hears Riku's slightly distressed voice, she's running out of her room and down the hall to the stairs, entering the stairwell and finding Sora passed out and Ted and Riku standing over him.]
