Hello guys! I don't know if any of you remember me. I used to wander around here quite a lot a few years ago. I tamed after some time, due to lack of news from the band. I was sick of waiting around without knowing when the album would come out, if it ever did come out one day ( Read more... )

a little opinion by a fan from Chile ext_1451314 May 1 2013, 02:35:02 UTC
i liked the album instrumentally talking.. i loved the interludes, the way the album started and ended...

... but I'm completely disappointed by the lyrics ._. i get shivers in my spine every time i listen to "Acoustic Funeral", "This Fortress of Tears", "Cyanide Sun", "Beautiful", and so on...

BUT IN TEARS ON TAPE -.-! most songs just says love this and love that, it was just too cheesy! just look at the titles:

- Love without tears
- I will be the end of you
- hearts at war
- no love
- when love starts to die

most of the lyrics felt uninspired to me :( lots of elements in the album felt really rushed out, which for an album that we waited for 3 long years is unacceptable. But don't get me wrong, i do liked Tears on Tape and i don't think is a really BAD album by any means... it's just not the flawless album HIM was preaching and we were waiting.

and as i said before, i love the interludes! i love the artwork, the concept, the sound and the band's overall performance (except Gas and Mige... dull drumlines and almost unhearable basslines) Linde and Burton saved this album in my opinion. I was astonished by the enormous guitars and the atmospheric synths this album had! the vocals were neat and ok (aside from the lyrics).

The songs i really loved where Drawn & Quartered, Tears on Tape, All Lips Go blue, W.L.S.T.D and Into the Night. i was blown up by Lucifer's chorale, Unleash the Red and Kiss the void. all the others songs didn't kill me...

sorry for my bad english and awful writing
