I didn't like that part either but I think we should be indulgent to Ville, he's definitely going thru hard times (no label, career crisis, health issues etc.) We all know that he enjoys touring, he needs our support and understanding! let's just see what happens, hopefully we'll get a proper tour at least in Europe.
I see a totally different meaning in this part... more in terms of that as an artist, he doesn't see the whole touring thing as an inevitable duty that comes along with a new album but same as songwriting: if it feels right at that moment you just do it without having to "force" yourself to do so.
I was thinking it was more of a privelage to hear their music and see them tour. If you read further, it says its like falling in love. You wouldnt go on a date or kiss someone that you know is not right would you? Like that stranger that gives you the creeps? No, of course not, the expierence would be, look, and feel horrible. I dont see why he should do anything but what he and the band want to do.

And the 8 songs part i think refers to the live recordings they did, one of which was Strange World.
