Oh 'eck, I knew someone'd ask me that question. It's just a sort of catch all award intended for real icons of rock, Lemmy, Manson and Bruce Dickinson have all won it. It's prestigious, I guess.

Interesting that this 'look' downplays the pretty. To my eyes he is at his least attractive and in retrospect, the bottle thing you mention, just makes it worse.

You mean the beard and the moustache? Strangely I find the moustache on it's own to be less attractive, somehow it brings to my mind a cheesey salesmen.

Hmm, I liked that look.
No idea why, but I really did like it. But I think like is an understatement.
