Blockbusting

We all know Netflix and Redbox would eventually win, but I never knew in what fashion:

"Stalking Horse" deal - interesting, I'll have to look more into this. Anyways, when was the last time that you went to a Blockbuster.... really? I'm not sure why this has been so slow and coming, but something had to give.

First it was Gamefly, and then Netflix kind of followed in fashion. At what point will we not even care about even having a DVD/Blu-Ray player? The physical presence of having a movie seems almost redundant in many cases. However, I don't think it will be obsolete. This is similar to the Kindle/Nook argument. People like the physical presence of picking up a book, flipping the pages, making notes in it and having memories drawn upon the paper.

Okay, enough of getting soft on you.

But, similar to the post prior to this, medium by which content is delivered is important in two ways: the speed that which we receive the information and the intrinsic, sentimental value personally placed on them.
