Summary: He was just a normal human who was having a normal life in a normal university with normal friends who all came from normal families. He had no complaints. He loved his normal life. However, it will all be taken from him when he comes across an angel with a horrid past
CHAPTER 6
Inside the cave, Heechul was groaning. He was on the floor, his head swimming in an endless vertigo, his eyes slightly open and seeing a blur. It was dark and there was a small laughter ringing around him.
“Wake up, sweetie.”
Heechul opened his eyes more and saw feet. When he looked up, he saw Siwon. “Siwon, where are we? Weren’t we just at the DVD room?”
Siwon laughed, a wicked smile gracing his face. “I just brought you to a safer place, love.”
“Huh?” Heechul sat up. “What the fuck happened?”
“Hankyung, he’s an angel, correct?”
Heechul’s eyes widened for Siwon wasn’t supposed to know about it.
“It’s okay, Heechul,” Siwon took a knee and caressed Heechul’s cheek, his smile turning from wicked to gentle. “You’ve been asleep for two days now. I’m glad, though, you rested.” He placed a chaste kiss on the human’s forehead. “I just have to make a confession to you, love.”
Heechul gulped. He was having strange feelings that were telling him to run before it was too late.
“I love you, Heechul,” said Siwon. “I love you more than you know it, and I’ve loved you before you were even born. Let me just show you something,” he took his shirt and pulled it over his head.
“Siwon, I’m not in the mood for this,” said Heechul. “I want answers.”
“I’m giving you answers,” said Siwon as he threw his shirt to the side. “Look behind me,” and all of the sudden, wings came out of Siwon’s back. His wings were grandiose in size, its feathers so clean that it practically sparkled, giving light to the dark cave. It made Heechul’s mouth open in awe. “I’m an angel, Heechul. I’m your angel. Hankyung manipulated you,” Siwon placed his hand on Heechul’s cheek again, caressing it as the human’s eyes started to shake in disbelief. “Has Hankyung ever mentioned a fallen angel to you?” Heechul nodded. “Well, that fallen angel is him. He was stripped of his powers and was thrown to Hell, but he managed to escape. So he made lies and used you. That’s why he was keen to learn his powers again. He wants to regenerate his powers somehow, and then destroy the world. He’s scared of Hell, but he has some demons on his side.” Siwon cupped Heechul’s face. “Close your eyes and I’ll let you see.”
Scared, Heechul followed. He closed his eyes and saw Hankyung in his room at their apartment talking to the demons while in their demon form. Heechul could not hear what they were talking about, but they were talking. Then, Heechul saw Hankyung again, surrounded by the demons in their human form, walking through the streets. Heechul was sure that they were the demons because the eyes of one of them flashed a deep scarlet red. Heechul gulped in fear. Then, he saw them climbing up the mountain and standing side by side, looking at what seemed like a barrier that they couldn’t enter. Then, he saw Hankyung with a girl -it was the girl who Siwon was dating while seeing Heechul at the same time. Siwon just changed his appearance to look like Hankyung’s. That image of Hankyung with the girl made Heechul confused, but then they saw them in very intimate moments that Heechul frowned. Then Siwon pulled his hands away.
“How do you feel, love?”
Heechul looked down and forced his tears inside. “Don’t talk to me, Siwon.”
“I’m your angel, love,” Siwon laid his hand on Heechul’s lap, “I know what you’re thinking even if you don’t say it. I just want you to say it out loud because it will be better for you.”
“If you already know it, don’t ask me about it!” Heechul scowled at Siwon. “You should have more common sense than that!”
“Love, you feel betrayed.”
Heechul looked down as the tears started to glaze his eyes.
“The pain is unbearable, isn’t it? It’s just so painful, so, so painful. It’s the pain of betrayal. You spent time with him. You cared for him. You trusted him, yet he betrayed you.”
“Stop it!” shouted the human.
“Heechul, cry.”
Heechul quickly wrapped his arms around Siwon’s shoulder and cried.
“My love,” Siwon wrapped his arms around Heechul’s body and embraced him gently. “I’ll always be here for you. I won’t betray you like Hankyung.” His eyes flashed gold and red.

In the forest of the mountain where the cave was located, the demons, all in their human form, and Hankyung were practically camping outside of the barrier that Siwon made to keep them out.
“Fuck this all!” said Kangin as he sat in a circle with the fellow demons and Hankyung. “I could never imagine an angel being this powerful! We’re supposed to be equals yet all of us here together can’t go through this damn barrier!”
“He has a demon soul inside of him,” said Kyuhyun, “mix a demon and an angel, you get a very powerful entity. Plus,” he pointed at the yawning Hankyung, “he took this idiot’s powers too.”
“Hey!” said Hankyung. “I try my best.”
“You’re a human now,” said Kyuhyun, “and we here have to take care of you, letting you sleep and eat and drink water.” Kyuhyun shook his head, “and now that it’s late, you’re sleepy again.”
Kibum licked his lips, “Can you smell that?”
Shindong smelled the air. “It smells so delicious!”
Kangin grinned. “Very delicious.”
Hankyung raised his eyebrows. “What are all of you talking about?”
“The smell of pain,” said Kibum. “It is such a delicious smell. Angels feed off on faith and love, we demons feed on anger and pain.” Kibum chuckled, “it seems like such a great pain, the pain of betrayal.”
Kyuhyun looked at Hankyung, “it’s coming from the cave, from your Heechul.”
“What?” Hankyung bolted to his feet. “What is Constantine doing to him?”
“We don’t know,” said Kibum as he stood up, his form glowing in red and his fangs showing. “All I know is that I am thirsty for his pain.”
“Forgive Kibum,” said Kyuhyun. “He enjoys betrayal the most among us.”
“Demons feed on dark emotions,” said Hankyung, “don’t you all feel stronger?”
Kangin nodded and stood up, baring his muscles to Hankyung. “Of course, we do!”
“Then can we get through the barrier now?” asked Hankyung. “I’m not sleepy anymore.”
“No!” shouted Shindong. “This could be a trap! Remember that Constantine has a demon’s soul in him right now. He could be feeding off Heechul’s pain, thus making him stronger too.”
Then the ground started to shake underneath their feet.
“Uhm…” Hankyung gulped, “Is Constantine doing this?”
Kyuhyun shook his head. “That’s Eunhyuk. He’s rather angry.”
“Who’s Eunhyuk?” asked Hankyung.
“That’s Donghae’s mate,” said Kibum as he licked his lips again. “That human’s pain is growing!”
Then, from beneath the ground, a hand shot up.
“Shit!” shouted Hankyung as he took a step back.
“Seriously?” Kyuhyun raised an eyebrow. “You sure did learn how to be human fast. For an angel, you curse a lot.”
Before Hankyung could reply, another hand shot up from the ground. Hankyung stumbled backwards in fear and the demons just looked at the hands that grabbed the soil and pushed himself up, revealing a very angry demon in a human’s form, its eyes flashing a bloody red color.
“You’re finally here, dumbass,” said Kangin. “Hankyung this is Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk, this is Hankyung.”
Eunhyuk jumped up from the ground, leaving a hole in it, and landed on his feet just right beside the hole that soon closed with a sound so horrible and hungry. “So, this is the legendary angel that wasn’t able to do his job.” Eunhyuk grinned. “Nice to meet you!”
Hankyung’s eye twitched. “I thought you were angry?”
“I am, but I’m saving that for Constantine.” Eunhyuk punched his hands together and scowled. “No one takes my mate away from me!”
Eunhyuk turned to the barrier. “I know that Constantine might be planning something, but we have to take chances. I doubt that he’ll be able to defeat all of us. We just need to find a way to awaken Donghae’s soul. Once that happens, he’ll lose most of what he has.”
Kyuhyun told Eunhyuk, “he has Hankyung’s powers with him. With that, he has a better control of Donghae.”
Eunhyuk shrugged his shoulders. “Let’s vote. Whoever wants to go charge right now while we can, raise their hands.”
Eunhyuk, Kibum, Kangin, and Hankyung raised their hands, leaving Shindong and Kyuhyun to glare at Hankyung.
“What?” said Hankyung.
“You’re an angel who’s supposed to be calm, bastard,” said Shindong. “You’re just as rash as these idiots.”
Hankyung shrugged his shoulders and let his hand down. “They turned me into a human, and I feel different now.”
“Shut the fuck up!” shouted Kibum. “I’m hungry,” his dark wings burst out from behind him. “Let us do this and let me get something to eat!”
Hankyung frowned. “You’re not eating Heechul!”
“I’m hungry, bastard,” said Kibum. “I’ll eat whatever I want to eat.”
“If you do, I’m not coming!” shouted Hankyung, causing Kyuhyun to glare at Kibum.
“Kibum,” said Kyuhyun, “we need a vessel. We won’t be able to rid Constantine of half of his powers. Remember, Hankyung’s powers cannot be transferred to anyone else but him.” The only reason why Constantine was able to transfer it to himself was because he fed on Hankyung for centuries. Constantine finished the job when he merged with Donghae’s demonic soul. Kyuhyun continued, “We won’t be able to just get Hankyung’s powers out of Constantine. That’s how it works. The original holder must be around for it to happen.”
Kibum frowned. “Fine. I won’t eat of Heechul and I won’t attach myself to him,” he planned on attaching himself to Heechul and destroying Heechul’s life so that he could continue feeding on Heechul’s pain. “I’ll just feed off on it while we’re battling the bastard. We demons need to be strong enough to fight the bastard. Is that good enough for you, lover boy?” he asked Hankyung. “Feeding off on his pain won’t do any harm to him.”
Hankyung looked at Kyuhyun. “Is he lying?”
“No,” said Kyuhyun.
“I’m an impatient demon!” shouted Kangin. “Let’s get this thing going!” and so the demons charged onto the barrier, destroying it in three hits.
