Summary: The Han and the Kim Kingdom were never in good terms. Four years after Han Geng becomes king, he and his brother considers a plan on getting back at the Kims by breaking their only prince.
In the Han’s palace, Hankyung just arrived and went straight to his room. When he was finally inside, he plopped on the bed but before he could even start thinking, someone knocked on the door.
“Brother, can I come in?”
“Sure.”
The doors opened and Siwon entered. “How did it go?” The prince asked him as he sat beside him on the bed.
“He’ll make a good ruler,” Han Geng said as he looked at the ceiling. “He may have been acting so scared when he was here with us last year but the real Heechul is loud and hyperactive. He’s too mischievous and he’s talkative, confident and sometimes cocky. Despite all that though, he cares deeply for people that he’s willing to sacrifice anything for the ones that he loves. That’s the thing people should learn. Even if people are loud and talkative, it doesn’t mean that they can’t be angels. Most people who have that sweet-as-an-angel impression are just the ones who would rather stay quiet.”
Siwon nodded. “Did you meet up with him?”
Han Geng shook his head. “I showed my face when he was talking and our eyes met. When he left the balcony, I left their kingdom. I just can’t go inside their palace to talk to him. Everyone there probably still hates me. We probably would never meet again. I’m just happy that I saw him and he’s now known to his people. That’s what he’s been wanting for years.”
Siwon nodded in understanding. “You shouldn’t give up on him.”
“I can’t do anything, Siwon. No matter how much I love him, we’re probably never meant to be together.”

A few months passed by and those two still weren’t able to get rid of their loneliness. Heechul was happy that he was already known but now he can’t sneak out of the palace without covering his face anymore. He’s already being included during public events and other meetings. It’s pressuring but he didn’t mind.
One day, the royal family was given a letter. Since Heechul’s already a known prince, he was allowed to read the messages without his parents there. His parents were away to another kingdom that day so he was alone. When he got the letter in the welcoming room, he calmly looked at the sender. When he saw who sent it, he tensed and ran to his room to send it.
Han
When he got to his room, he let himself fall to his knees on the floor and hurriedly opened the letter. He felt his tears coming but after he finished reading the letter, his tears were already running down his cheeks fast.
I request a meeting with you, Kangin and Eeteuk. I have a very important revelation that I need to tell you. If you were able to keep Heechul a secret for 18 years, Junki also has a secret.
Please reply as soon as possible. I’ll be free the whole of next week.
Also, I can’t take no for an answer. This is something really big that you need to know.
-Siwon
Heechul held the letter to his chest. He was hoping that it was a letter from Han Geng but no, it was a letter from Siwon. Judging from the words, he knows that they’re going to reveal Kibum in their meeting.

That evening, Siwon, Han Geng and Kibum were in their dining room.
“Are you sure you don’t want to go?” Siwon asked Han Geng as he held Kibum’s hand with their fingers intertwined.
Han Geng shook his head. “It’ll just hurt even more. Also, if ever you go berserk, you have Kibum to cool you down.”
“But, Geng, you’re still in love with him,” Siwon held Kibum’s hand tighter. He’s already improved with his anger towards the Kims, but he still has his breakdowns. It still happens quite often but Kibum’s always there to cool him down. Next week, he’s going to show Kibum and he was going to see them again. Everyone is nervous that he’d do something rash but Kibum assured them that he’d take care of him.
Han Geng shook his head again. “I told you, I can’t destroy him even more. He deserves someone better than me. I’m just going to break him and his family. I might even break his relationship with his people.”

By next week, Kangin and Eeteuk sat on their throne waiting for Siwon. Heechul was standing beside Eeteuk but he was told to stay in his room. However, he wanted to be there for two reasons. One is because he wanted to get rid of his fear of Siwon. Second is that he’s hoping that he’ll see Han Geng.
The three waited there in silence and when the doors opened, everyone tensed. Heechul felt his heart fall again when he saw who entered the room. Han Geng was nowhere in sight. He felt that disappointment but he also felt that fear he had for Siwon.
When the doors opened, two young men entered. What the royal family saw was the stoic faces of Siwon and Kibum.
“Your majesties,” said Siwon as both he and Kibum bowed.
Kangin, Eeteuk and Heechul all took notice of him and nodded their heads.
Siwon still had his stoic face but he looked at Kibum and whispered, “I still can’t take all of this. You talk. I might end up insulting them or starting another war.” Siwon’s face was void of emotion but Kibum knew that he was trying his hardest to control his feelings.
Kibum heard him and nodded as he stepped forward. “Your majesties, I have something to tell you. Actually, I have something to reveal to you, your highness, Kangin.”
Kangin cocked his eyebrow. “What is it, Kibum?” He remembers the name of the young man he met a year ago.
As they talked, Eeteuk was smiling. She wasn’t able to notice the fear in Heechul’s eyes for they weren’t facing each other.
Siwon kept his stoic façade as he kept trying to keep his anger in. His eyes were on Kibum though and no one else. This is something big for his love.
Heechul, on the other hand, kept looking away. He couldn’t bear to look at Siwon for memories and emotions would shock his body. He didn’t want to remember the pain anymore. He still hasn’t been fully healed from the war last year. Even if a few more years pass, he doesn’t know if he’ll ever get rid of his fear towards Siwon.
“Your majesty,” Kibum gulped. “I’m Junki’s son.”
Silence.
Kangin’s eyes widened and his whole body froze. His mind turned blank and he didn’t know how to react to the words that Kibum just said.
Kibum, however, got even more nervous. “Your brother had a son with a courtesan in the Hans. My mother died giving birth to me and I’ve lived my whole life in hiding in their palace.”
Kangin’s shocked expression stayed on his face.
“I can understand if you’ll never accept me into your family,” Kibum looked down. “I do not wish to have you take me in your palace for I want to stay in the Hans. I just wanted to reveal who I really am because it always haunted me. I know that my father made a lot of sins and I apologize for him. I,” Kibum paused to take in a breath. “I just don’t want to hide anymore. If you can never accept me as part of your family, or even acknowledge me as a Kim,” Kibum raised his head to look at them. “I can understand.”
Kangin’s face didn’t change. Eeteuk was already glaring at him to stay something but Kangin was too shocked to look at her.
“That’s all, your majesties,” Kibum bowed and turned around to walk towards Siwon. Siwon stood there in his spot as he waited for Kibum. He had a sad look on as he hated it when Kibum was in pain. When Kibum was finally by his side, they looked at each other’s eyes before they started walking to leave the room.
When the pair was near the doors, Eeteuk nudged Kangin at the shoulder. Kangin looked at her and saw her scolding look. That’s when Kangin realized that he has to say something.
“Kim Kibum!” Kangin exclaimed as he stood up.
Kibum and Siwon froze in their tracks and looked behind them.
“I don’t hate your father,” Kangin smiled at him. “He’s still my brother. Besides, I’ve always wanted a nephew.
Kibum’s froze in surprise. He didn’t expect this.
Siwon suddenly turned to Kibum and smiled. He saw Kibum’s expression so he softly whispered, “You don’t have to hide anymore.”
Kibum looked at Siwon and slowly smiled before he turned back to Kangin. “You’re accepting me as his son?”
Kangin nodded. “Family would always be family. Besides, I’ve been wondering for years why he didn’t have a son. Knowing him, he’d have one at a really young age.”
Kibum was still smiling then he bowed, “Thank you, your majesty.”
“You can call me uncle now.”
Heechul wanted to laugh at his words but his expression didn’t change. For him, ‘Uncle Kangin makes you sound even older.’
Kibum’s smile widened.
“If you want,” said Eeteuk, “you can come over or stay here right now to catch up.”
Kibum looked at Siwon with hopeful eyes. Siwon’s expression softened. Kibum smiling like that just gives out this innocence that Siwon liked. “You don’t have to ask my permission, you know.”
Kibum put his lips back together but he was still smiling. He looked back at Kangin and Eeteuk, “Thank you for the offer. I’ll try to visit next week.”
Kangin and Eeteuk nodded. Kibum then said their goodbye and left. Heechul didn’t say a word as he sadly watched them leave. He wanted to stop them and tell to bring him with them. He still wanted to see Han Geng. When the doors fully closed, he felt his heart hurting that he quietly left his parents. Kangin and Eeteuk noticed his silent exit and his solemn face. They felt guilty that they didn’t request to see Han Geng. They both know that their son is still yearning to be with him.

A few days later, Donghae was with Eunhyuk in the gardens. It was late in the evening and they were alone.
“I need to tell you something, Eunhyuk,” Donghae said sadly as he looked down from his seat on the bench.
“What’s wrong?” Eunhyuk asked him as he sat beside the dancer.
“I,” Donghae looked at him with sad eyes, “I’m going to die soon.
Eunhyuk’s expression dropped, “Stop, stop joking around.”
Donghae shook his head. “I’m not joking, Eunhyuk.”
“No,” Eunhyuk threw himself towards Donghae and wrapped his arms around his neck as he started to cry. “What’s wrong? Why are you going to die?”
Donghae buried his face in Eunhyuk’s face and wrapped one arm around Eunhyuk’s waist. Behind him, he reached out for the rose that he put on the bench behind Eunhyuk. “I’m scared, Eunhyuk.”
“Don’t be,” Eunhyuk shut his eyes tight. “I’m here for you.”
“Eunhyuk,” Donghae pulled away and saw Eunhyuk’s crying eyes. “I,” he showed Eunhyuk the rose and Eunhyuk’s eyes widened. The rose was blood red and in the middle laid a silver ring. “Before I die,” Donghae gulped, “I wanted to say that I love you so much.”
Eunhyuk looked up at him with surprised eyes.
“Please, be mine forever.”
Eunhyuk tears flowed even more that he threw himself at Donghae. He wrapped his arms around his neck and started kissing him. “I love you,” he whispered onto Donghae’s lips when he pulled away only to kiss him back.
Donghae wrapped his free arm around Eunhyuk’s waist as he kept the rose in the other. He kissed Euhyuk and as their lips were meeting, his hand was roaming around the others back. Slowly, he started nibbling on Euhyuk’s lower lip and Eunhyuk granted him entrance. His tongue went in between his lips and he started to explore Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk moaned onto his lips and pulled himself closer to Donghae. When he needed to breathe, he pulled away. “Would you be mine tonight?” Donghae asked him on his lips.
Eunhyuk felt nervous as he felt his heart beat faster. He and Donghae have never gone farther than making out. Whenever Donghae pushes him on his bed as they’re touching and ravaging each other, he always pulls away and says that he couldn’t do it yet. Donghae would always say that he understands then go to the bathroom to get rid of his “problem.”
“I can wait, Eunhyuk,” Donghae pecked Eunhyuk’s lips.
“No,” Eunhyuk muttered as he was looking straight into Donghae’s eyes. “I’m yours,” he planted a soft kiss on Donghae’s jaw. “I’m all yours, Donghae.”
“Woah, it actually worked,” Donghae mumbled as he looked away.
Eunhyuk cocked an eyebrow. “What do you mean it actually worked?”
Donghae sheepishly grinned at him. “I was telling Heechul how you weren’t ready yet. He told me that if I pretend that I was dying, you’d sleep with me.”
“What?!” Eunhyuk was shocked and outraged. “You mean you aren’t really dying? And why did you listen to him?!” Eunhyuk pulled away.
“Well, he was just fooling around and I just wanted to play a prank on you.”
Eunhyuk’s mouth dropped.
“But, hey,” Donghae grinned again, “I really do love you.”
Eunhyuk pouted and stood up to walk away.
“Eunhyuk! I was just fooling around! I’m sorry!” Donghae stood up and followed Eunhyuk. “I really do love you!”
Eunhyuk continued walking.
“Eunhyuk!” Donghe ran to stand in front of Eunhyuk and grabbed his arms. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking properly. I shouldn’t have done that.”
Eunhyuk looked up at him and tears were falling down his eyes. He was trying to keep it in but he couldn’t. “Don’t do those things! Those aren’t funny!”
“I know. I’m sorry,” Donghae wrapped his arms around Eunhyuk and Eunhyuk buried his face in his neck. “I’m sorry.”
Eunhyuk nodded, “Just don’t do it again.”
“I won’t,” Donghae pulled away to plant a soft kiss on Eunhyuk’s lips. “I promise.”
“Donghae.”
“Hm?” Donghae and Eunhyuk kept their eyes on each other.
“Do you really love me?”
Donghae softly smiled. “I do. I love you, Eunhyuk. I was a fool last year for not realizing it. I was too caught up with Heechul to look at you. I know that I never told you that I love you until today but it’s because I wanted to make sure that I do. I wanted to make sure first that you’re the one I’m destined for. Eunhyuk, I just have a feeling that you’re the one destined for me. In the future, I don’t know. You may find someone else but I don’t think that I will.”
“Donghae,” Eunhyuk whispered.
“I love you,” Donghae softly kissed him on the forehead. “I love you,” the nose, “I love you,” and then a passionate kiss on the lips.
‘I love you.’

That night, Zhou Mi entered Kyuhyun’s chambers.
“Have you seen Henry? I haven’t seen him the whole day.”
“Oh,” Kyuhyun said, “he’s been talking about this pianist a lot lately. I think he’s with her right now.”
Zhou Mi stared at him.
“Is there something wrong, dad?” asked Kyuhyun.
“Nothing,” Zhou Mi said, “I’ll go to my room now. I’m tired.”
“Okay, goodnight.”
“Goodnight,” Zhou Mi turned and walked out of the room. ‘My two sons are both grown up already!’
