Today was another free day. A little more uneventful though as we spent much of the day on our own working on our projects. Later in the day we met up with the group to take the peak tram. The weather was the worst it had been since we arrived in Hong Kong, cloudy and cool. We were hopping to see a sunset when we planned this venture, but there was no sun to be found that day. It was still enjoyable though to see the city lit up at night, especially for the evening’s light show. And in traditional Hong Kong style, right at the top of the peak was a mall. We shopped a little and I got some souvenirs/gifts for friends and family back home. We left the peak via bus and went to a fancy restaurant in a smaller group. It was actually really cheap by American standards, but the food was great. We were served in the lazy Susan style like we had been our first night in Hong Kong. I had braised noodles with giant whole mushrooms. We were all enjoying ourselves and laughing and having fun that night though I am afraid we were a bit loud and obnoxious. We probably perpetuated some stereotypes of Americans and bothered the other customers.
Oh well, it was our last night in Hong Kong together and we wanted to have fun. After eating a smaller group of us went to Kwai Lan Fung Rd (probably spelled wrong) to try and go dancing again, but nothing was happening on a Monday night. We headed home after a while and started to get ready for our 26 hour long train ride to Shanghai. I packed and organized and woke up early to continue with preparations. I also finally got a chance to talk to my Mommy! Let me tell you, Skype is amazing.
