The Final 4
Well, folks, it's down to the wire. I've now started my Portfolio classes. I've gone through all the major courses with a 3.69 GPA so at leat I can say I sort of know what I'm doing. Maybe.
The portfolio classes are not exactly what I expected and they are questioning my sanity as to why I decided to go the path of a compositor. I mean, this was the discipline that had the fewest classes and, since I don't do a lot of video taking, had the least amount of footage to be able to use in class. It was these classes I wish there had been more of and one of the few times I wish I had been on campus to get more involved with. But I WILL persevere. As of this moment, there are two projects I'm working on. Righ now it's the walking leopard. I have to roto him out and put him on a gray or checkerboard background. I thought that would be easy. It would be easy if I knew more about Nuke than what was taught in class. So I'm looking up a bunch of stuff and hoping the terms are the same for what I need to do. That's really the other issue about doing compositing, not all programs use the same terms to do the same thing. But it's all good. I still want to branch out into special effects, but I need to learn this first. Mat Painting is also interesting but again, I need to learn this first before I branch that way. Wish me luck that I find something, Anything, close to home to start with to work up my talent.
Anyway, my birthday has come and gone. Went to Wholanta for it. :-D Yes, not only did TimeGate change its name to Wholanta, it was also on my birthday this year. Had a blast. Ready for next year already.
Other than that, nothing much to say. I do have an artstation account if you want to find my other pages. It's here. This will probably be the only time I link to anything outside of this blog here, mainly because my real name is on the other pages and normally I want to separate this journal from real life. It keeps me sane that way. But from this page, it connects to my other pages that I might put something up on. Just to show that I am doing something with my school work. Just need to do more. I'm also thinking of not doing much with this site anymore since the new bylaws of this site have changed. Not that I've been doing much anyway, but I have more linked people here than I do on tumbler or anywhere else so it makes me feel like I'm connected with people. But...well...we'll see. It's here now so read it while you can.
