Bruce Rocked Charleston!!
The beach was great - the weather was perfect. The house was crowded and lots of fun! But the perfect ending to my weekend was three hours in the same room with The Boss!! Our seats were in a good location, sixth row off the floor in riser seats. Well, if I had sat down, they would have been good seats. Russ asked me once, 'baby, don't you wanna sit down for a minute?' to which I replied, "I did not spend $108. to look at that guy's ass in front of me, and if he's gonna stand up, so am I - I came to see Bruce and see him I WILL!!"
He opened the sold-out (13,730 capacity venue) show with a Swingin' Medallions cover of "Double Shot of My Baby's Love" knowing South Carolinians love beach music! His performance never wavered from electrifying! A solid three hour show - no opening act, no intermission, no break, just solid belting out the hits from a 35 year career! The only draw back was Patti was not with the band for this performance. He said she was home with the kids so they wouldn't burn down the house or sell his favorite clothes on eBay! How cool must it be to be the kids of The Boss?
I want to see another Bruce concert!! I seriously thought about driving to Richmond, VA Monday, but I wasn't sure I could get a ticket at this late date! Serously though, I hope they go back out on tour before I'm too old to enjoy the show like I did Saturday. But then, Bruce is the same age I am. How does he do it??
