Flashback... And update of my adventures.

Oct 31, 2006 20:17

The following is from a saved draft... From 23th of Feb!!! I feel like a time-traveler!

"Three days into a new Biotech course, and I am already having a day off tomorrow. Guess it's for homework and assignments... I will try to be productive, honest!^_^;

Still, it's surprising how cynical I really am, even to me.

I mean, is it wrong to consider everything "Dr House" (from the medical TV show) said to be normal?

Why should people fake compassion? Why should people fake kindness? What's the point of treating a patient if they don't want to be treated?

If I want to be kind, I will be kind in a genuine way. There is no point being nice to everyone, because it cheapens the emotion. I will be fair and just to those who do wrong, and reserve kindness to those who genuinely deserves it.
"
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% End flashback.

...Anyway, to be up-to-date, I have now been on the Biotech course for 9 months.

*Sliced open two rats (one pregnant), and one mouse.
*Tortured eight tomato-seedlings through starvation over two weeks.
*Murdered two cultures of E.coli via ultra-violet radiation.
*Forced soil bacterium to eat nothing but detergent (or die) over five weeks.
*Found out exactly how dangerous a can of "V" is via detection of caffine content.
*Made pure aspirin at 60% efficiency.
*Made nylon, while being hit by toxic fumes.
*Resisted the urge to mix a bottle of Potassium permanganate with a bottle of concentrated sulphuric acid. (the resulting explosion would have killed everyone in the lab as well as take out the windows across the hallway)

...Anyway, that's pretty much all the things I did... Oh yeah, almost forgot:
*Made 30 litres of beer
I don't usually drink, so I gave my share to my lab partner. Didn't think it was a big deal...
