I'm a bit late with the new spring season anime, however hope to finish quick, even if there is lots of stuff this time to cover.
As recently done with the new seasons I will have a post for short, one for sequels, and then separate post for every new series. This post for shorts (between 3-12 minutes long series).
100% Pascal-sensei
A not-human teacher, Pascal-sensei takes over a grade school class. He doesn't even know how to write his own name and does whatever he wants in class...
A really bad child-version of Ansatsu Kyoushitsu.
Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai!
Everyday life of siblings...
As I always say, sibling war exists. Knowing that, I don't find this specially entertaining.
Gin no Guardian
The first episode of this 13 minutes series didn't give much to go by. We see the main guy Riku Suigin in two situations: a fantasy world where he is fighting against evil creatures, and a normal world where he works part-time by a pool.
What I could get is that somehow he got stuck, and needs to fight every day to win, so that maybe a day he can get out into the real world again. But he is fighting mostly to see Riku Rei, who involved him in these fights.
Kenka Banchou Otome: Girl Beats Boys
Made after a neoromance game with the same title. Also has a manga with the same storyline where the orphan Nakayama Hinako suddenly reunites with her - till then unknown - twin brother Hikaru who asks her to take his place at Shishiku Academy, a private boys school infamous for its rough-and-tumble student body. Hikaru being the child of a powerful Yakuza family, the Onigashima, he is obligated to become the leader of Shishiku Academy. Hinako will have to hide her identity and fight to control the school. How will Hinako deal with a school full of handsome boys.
As you can already guess, I'll watch this one. Both the graphic and story give me flashes of POWER!, a shame that the episodes are just 8 minutes long.
Love Kome: We Love Rice
Even in Japan yeast took over rice as now everyone is having pan or bread related products. The Harvest Show is a concert where all of the different grains show off their beauty to everyone watching, and HarveStars is the name given to the grains who put on the best performances. Now five new rice students have enrolled at Kokuritsu Inaho Academy, a school on the verge of shutting down, and they form a new group called Love Rice that's practising to beat Yeast King at the Harvest Show and win back the popularity rice once had.
While I get the message, the only good thing from this 4 minute episode is the recipe at the end.
Puripuri Chii-chan!!
Okay, so if I understood this one right, just as there are creatures from outside of Earth, the main creature Chii-chan is a creature from inside Earth. Chii-chan even though afraid that humans will experiment on him/her (?) if found, still goes up to eat sweets. While wanting to go back he is stuck in a hole, and meets Yuuka, who gladly helps anyone.
Watching a yellow ball being grateful was really entertaining. And the joke at the end with the inside Earth creature meeting an alien was a nice surprise. If you want to relax and just laugh, I recommend this one.
Room Mate
A first-person anime from the perspective of a female protagonist, living together with 3 guys.
If it would be really first-person the camera view wouldn't change that often. This way it feels more like a game. But even though I love neoromance, I didn't like this one. T_T
Sekai no Yami Zukan
Short stories of the strange and bizarre in our world, including UFOs, curses, ancient civilizations, supernatural powers, etc.
There is not much animation, more like a powerpoint presentation, with a drama cd running in the background. Not bad, but the first episode was so unfinished... if every one is like that, I know I would only get annoyed. Must say though, the voices are great.
Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni...
On a class reunion a woman meets her high school love, who became a monk. They begin a relationship.
This wants to be a remake of a shoujo manga... well seems like it's more erotic in nature.
The Snack World
Though this one is not short, the graphic and the childlike story made me want to put it here.
Twin Angel Break
Amatsuki Meguru and Kisaragi Sumire turn into Twin Angels with the orders from the hedgehog Miruku-chan.
The prequel was with other characters, that's all I know. Maybe this wants to be like the Pretty Cure series.
Uchouten Kazoku 2
A tanuki's life in Kyoto continues.
If you know the view in Kyoto, this can be quite enjoyable.
Warau Salesman New
Fukuzou Moguro is a travelling salesman, who deals in things that give his customers their heart's desire. Once his deals are made and their unhealthy desires are satisfied, Moguro's customers are often left with terrible repercussions, especially if they break the rules of his deals.
The original story aired in 1989... at that time I wouldn't have valued this story.
