When this anime came out Autumn 2012 I watched the first episode, and thought that the simplicity will be charming... But it was the same season where Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun made the anime debut, and it totally hit this anime out of my view.
Today I went back and watched everything. The anime and the live action.
The story made me remember Mars and KareKano - well, a soft version of these. This one is less hurting, but I think for a shoujo romance it's nice. Yamato is a bit too perfect, but loyal. Mei starts from static and goes though a nice change. Background characters have around half of an episode to find their happiness - which wouldn't be much, but I still like it - BECAUSE we get to see it end in happiness.
As for the live action. It's a movie, so many things are cut out, or quickened up in such a way, that makes it almost comical. The guy actors so look like over 25! X3 Because it's a short version, the characters can't build, and everyone just goes with the story line. Mei and Kai have a bit deepness - I almost wished here to have them get together. Would have made a round ending.
