I know that every time there is a theme that's more favoured than the others by the modern kdramas, every season. For ex. about every year once you can find dramas full with music & singing.
But this time, the modern stories seem to be mostly about mental health. I understand, that these are not medically correct, but the fact that there are so many gives me a concern.
It's okay, it's Love
This drama is from last summer. The love story between a psychiatrist and a schizophrenic - a side pairing is a famous musician and another schizo.
Kill Me, Heal Me
Due to a traumatic experience in his childhood Cha Do Hyun suffers memory lapses and his personality is split into seven different identities. Oh Ri Jin is a first-year psychiatric resident who treats him.
Good part: Ji Sung plays Cha Do Hyun. I love all the characters he plays here, not over the top, but still freaky. Bad part: the character of Oh Ri Jin is really not that of a doctor, more like a girlfriend. She seems to be his first love and the trigger for his transformations.
Hyde Jekyll, Me
Koo Seo-Jin has two different personalities, while working as a theme park director. Jang Ha-Na works at the circus at Wonderland, she seems to be his first love and the trigger for his transformations. (Yes, again).
Heart to Heart
Cha Hong Do suffers from social phobia and severe blushing, psychiatrist Ko Yi Suk has panic attacks. When they are together, their faults seem to slowly disappear.
