I don't remember what I gave away from where my company sent me in December, today at last I have some time to write about it. So as you can see from the subject, for a few days I was in Bangalore.
It was for business, so there was not much I could check out. Nothing was open when I woke up and then by the time I arrived back at the hotel it was already too late, and everything was closed again - at last for tourism. Also, as I was there alone, it was a bit hard to go around the city. Whenever I went out, I went with a taxi, and only had the first day, Monday to really look around. A little example how the streets look:

(You can hear a song of Christina Aguilera in the background a bit. The reason is, that on the 18th December she had birthday, and the moderator by the radio wanted to wish her happy birthday with her own song.)
Since the traffic in Bangalore makes moving around the city really slow, I only choose two places to go:
Lalbagh Botanical Garden and the largest shopping center,
Phoenix Mall. The reason for the first was to surprise my Mom with pictures about the plants there, and for the 2nd, naturally shopping! What else? ^.^
Below you can find my best pictures, from the hotel and surroundings, the botanical garden, and I also got some pictures from a colleague who was there a week before me to show the traffic a bit more. I'll also try to comment on the pictures, at last what little I got know from my visit there.
First, my hotel room. It was more of an apartment then a room. Living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom and bath. To the kitchen I even had a little balcony.
The switch for hot water really tickled my funny bone. X3
the Lalbagh Botanical Garden
First as I got there, I wanted to turn back. Almost no leafs on the trees, everything dry, full with trash...
but then I turned, and began to see the beauty
Kempegowda tower
Lalbagh park lake
I just thought it funny that in a botanical garden they make the trash can look like a bole.
In Hungary, the birds we see are pigeons and sparrows. So what most got to me is that Bangalore was full with eagles. The sky was full of them.
There were not many plants in bloom, but I can image how the rose garden would look in summer.
The tree fossil is a collection from the National Fossil Park, Tiruvakkarai, South Arcot, Tamilnadu. It is supposed to be 20 million years old, from the petrified coniferous tree.

On the left, Ficus religiosa (Peepal / Peepul / Pippal tree). It is unrivalled throughout the world. No other tree is claimed to have such a long life.
Now from this I must talk about... I see these statues from far away, and want to get closer to take a good picture. But when I'm there, I hear some rustling. It was a snake. And it was coming closer and closer to me, so I escaped, and figured, if I try to be nearer of the sound of eagles, in the open, it would be more safe.
The famous Glass House of Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore was built during the administration of Lalbagh superintendent Sri John Cameron in the year 1889 to commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales. The glass house was originally designed on the lines of crystal palace of England, and built in an area of 17000 sqft. Formerly Glass House was used to acclimatize the different exotic plant species, which were imported from other countries. Presently it is used to conduct flower shows twice a year.
This Cook Pine is 184 year old, 132 feet tall, width 14 feet.

Surroundings by the hotel
It is a housing with lots of buildings, nice park-like garden, and all is surrounded by a wall, gate is protected by security, so only those living there could access it.
Streets and traffic
Another thing strange for me were the sidewalks - or at last the lack of it. Also I left one thing out: the situations of the dogs were so poor, the city full with strays. I didn't want to keep that in memory, so I have not made any pictures from those.
Phoenix Mall - since it was December, they had the Christmas decorations up, only difference I could see between a shopping center from Europe and India were the traditional clothes.
The reason why I decided to write about it now is because next Saturday I go again, this time for 3 weeks. Also this time one of my colleagues will be with me, so hopefully I'll have more time to look around, maybe find more typical stuff to show.
