Politicians are scary
Hungary roars since last week the government party announced that they have a draft bill about Internet tax. 150 Ft (0,61$) / GB download.
After the draft the tax would only affect the provider... but show me just one company who would willingly shoot a hole into their head!
There are three things which makes this a scary announcement.
- the idea of Internet tax would limit the chances of Hungary at everything
- the party who made the announcement about the draft bill was AGAINST the draft 8 years ago (why am I not surprised)
- if the politicians vote the law, the providers will surely pass the payment to the customers
There were already demos against the draft. A few of my friends and family went there too. Because they think it is serious, and suspect what will happen.
Well, seeing as there was a draft bill about bank tax a few years back, and now the banks makes you pay for every action on your card - from transfer to cash withdrawals - this might be real.
