Lucy

This film was a disappointment for me. The basic story - about drugs activating a bigger part of the brain - is not a first. It is closest to Limitless, with some elements from Transcendent.
The drugs this time are a type of element that the mothers body produces at the 6th week of pregnancy, this time produced artificially. We have 4 bags, and Lucy is one of the 4 unfortunates who needs to smuggle it though the Thai border. But due to some rough handling her bag rips and leeks. The drugs don't just give her a boost, she begins to consciously access parts of her brain that were unreachable before, and she gains new abilities with the growing brain activation capacity. By 20% she can alter her own appearance, with 40 she can control others, by 60% she can manipulate materials.
As her cells regenerate at an abnormal speed she needs the drugs to keep on living, so she begins to hunt down the other 3 smugglers with the help of the French police.

The film does not even want to explain things. How can anyone make this stuff? Why is it so important to smuggle these over the border? Wouldn't the chemical composition, a simple recipe be enough? Why is the Korean Mafia based in Thai? Just a few questions, that make absolute no sense in this story. I don't want to spoil it, but I did not find it enjoyable at all, it was not funny, neither exciting. And now I'll push the post button, and this writing will be everywhere...
