Rideback by Kasara Tetsuro
Ogata Rin was a dance-talent since little. Just as she gets a big role, she breaks her leg during lesson at 16~. Three years later she gets accepted at Musashino University for Arts. It's somehow in her character that she gets lost on the campus on her first day, so she tries to ask the way... from an otaku, who is a member of the Rideback club (two-wheeled robots are named "Rideback", modeled on a human being). From a misunderstanding he thinks she is there as a new member, and lets her riding one of the robots. She seems to be a natural talent, and somehow the feel of riding makes her interested, so she joins the club.
Next to that the story tells about anti-government student movements being popular, and the military going at them full force. Even though there wasn't much action in the first volume - only a bit of rival-match between an older member and Rin - it seems she will play a major part to stop these fights... or to extend them?
To tell the truth, I find it really interesting. The graphic is a bit amateurish but the story is good! I'm already interested how it's going on. Looking it up, it says there is even an OVA somewhere~.
