Your name: Samantha Your LJ (or any other blog/website you'd like listed): lunaticcrow MSN/AIM/Yahoo!IM/other means of contact: MSN: lunaticcrow@hotmail.com, AIM: Burado Kilstein Days/times you'll most likely be available: I'm in a lot of classes, but most often Thursday to Sunday, Noon-Midnight
Character you'd like to play and the series they're from: Ciel from Tsukihime. Use three words to describe your character's personality: Wise, Complex, Kind Describe what their special powers/talents are: Ciel is one of the "special girls" in the Type-Moon universe: through means of a possession she inherited inhuman levels of strength and agility- she can easily jump to the top of a street lamp in the blink of an eye, and wary an attacker should be of her, as she can be a challenge for even vampires to fight. Through certain affiliations, she also knows charms and holy artes (healing, et al). Though rest assured, Ciel does not make use of these skills willy-nilly- she has self-control, and will only display these talents in a life-threatening situation. Also through this possession, she received the curse of immortality; She's arguably blessed in the fact that she doesn't physically age, but this immortality is not kind to her in practice. Instead of being preventative, or even painless, Ciel must go through the grueling process of her body rewinding to the point before she was hurt; there's no fresh mending, no new blood poured into empty veins- blood would be sucked back into her body from the ground, and her flesh would crawl back to her in slithering piles. ..On a slightly less gruesome note, Ciel also has great knowledge of curries of the world? Provide a brief bio of your character's canon history (keep as spoiler-free as possible, please): to avoid EXTREME HORRIBLE SPOILERS, I've omitted some large parts about the ending and her past.. but I think this does the job.
Ciel very suddenly and mysteriously arrived in The Protagonist's, Shiki's, hometown. As odd as that yellow train that stopped him up on his way to school that morning, Ciel, a third year he thought he'd never seen before, had greeted him as an acquaintance and quickly inserted herself into his life. Overjoyed at his company and considering him a very fast friend, Ciel would run down flights of stairs only moments before the morning bell to greet him with a smile. If one chose to follow Ciel's route in Tsukihime, you'd find that she and Shiki became very close friends- the very precious kind that could enjoy the other's company in simple silence.
Their peaceful time together, unfortunately, passed very quickly. As The Protagonist's involvement with the mystical grew deeper and deeper, the nature of Ciel's presence at his school was revealed to be far from pleasant; In brief, Ciel was an agent from a mysterious organization hunting vampires and other disorderlies, of which Shiki's daily life had become intimately entangled with. After saving his life once before the "grand reveal", she tried to continue with the cover of a normal daily life as if nothing happened, playing coy, but Shiki just dove deeper and deeper. To this effect, some of the more.. work-oriented parts of her personality took surface, and she soon shed (or attempted to) her schooltime persona. Though often acting cold in his presence, Ciel always showed a light of understanding and fairness to Shiki at this point in the story- they were still friends, even though their paths had crossed. Ciel had sternly warned him not to get involved, but he continued on, and she respected that.
This "on-duty" persona was really how she perceived herself- cold and inhuman. As the story progressed, it was revealed that this was a bigger part of her, but one that came into existence as a coping mechanism for her cursed life. To avoid further spoilers, I won't delve into that, but I will say that in spite of what she believes, being kind and enthusiastic is just as much part of her as sometimes feeling cold and lonely.
::Feels a bit sorry for her, but isn't surprised::
It seems you're facing the same circumstances as almost everyone else here, myself included. We're all stuck on this train, and we haven't been told why we're here or when we can go back home.
That's actually a pretty positive way to look at it! It would be nice if more of us saw it that way.
