Night Owl?
Ok, I'm being stalked. By a Great Horned Owl. No I'm not kidding. Tonight is the second night I've come face to face with this guy on my back porch. I let the dogs outside. Generally I let the girls back in, and Ash stays outside until he wants in, or I give up. Twice now, when I've gone out to get Ash, there has been a large Owl sitting on the Deck Railing. The out side light is not on. But you can see from the light shinning out from inside. Plus, there is a freaking Big dog out in the yard with it. What is it doing there? It waits for a second, then gently flies off. Not the actions I would expect from your every day owl. Now true, I've seen Ash cuddle up with a wild dear, Possum, and rabbit. (although he treed the raccoon...didn't like the opposable thumbs?) So I could understand Ash making friends with it. It's just it sitting in the half light, and not fleeing immediately when I open the door. It doesn't act sick, I haven't seen it around in the day. The best I can think is that it was Rehabbed and got a little to used to humans, so it doesn't have the fear it should. But still really odd. As long as it doesn't invite the other owls over to a party, I guess I'm fine. (you can hear three talking to each other in my neighborhood. Any ideas?
