Whether you have a pet or not, wouldn't you like to take 5 to 10 minutes
and help save the life of a dog or cat, and it won't cost you a penny?
Well, you can if you let me invite you to join zootoo.com and you select
The Austin Humane Society, the largest no-kill shelter in the city,
where I volunteer on Thursdays, as your shelter. If you are agreeable to
letting me invite you, and you register and fill in a short profile, my
shelter can earn 200 points toward a $1,000,000 shelter makeover from
zootoo.com. You will not receive any junk or spam from this site, I
promise. (If there us a shelter in your area that you'd rather to
support please do, you'll have to check the list, sorry US only. Or if

Placing in the top 20 is the first stage of the contest. We have moved
to 8th place today from 51st since we began our big push about a month
ago. This stage ends March 13 and then zootoo comes to visit the top 20
shelters. Then they narrow it down to 10 and the public votes for the
winner.
In case you didn't know, AHS receives about 50% or our animals from the
Town Lake Animal Center where they have to euthanize about half of their
animals annually. The more animals the Austin Humane Society can care
for, the more adoptable animals we can accept from area kill shelters,
hence you are saving animal lives if we get a makeover. Our building is
a re-purposed music store and does not function well as a shelter. We
all do the best we can but mold issue (big in Austin) and an old AC
system have caused major problems in the past year.
It would be a great help even if you do nothing more than register. I
know everyone is really busy these days, but I, the cats and dogs in
Central Texas would appreciate 5-10 minutes of your valuable time.
