She has been a good friend of mine for years. I've known her since she was 14. I have helped her through tough times. I have loved her for years, and she knows it. She recently married the guy she has been dating for four years. They are having some serious problems. She's come to my house two days in a row and talked about how she can't stand it, but she doesn't want to divorce him.

I know it's wrong, but I want her to divorce him. Well, part of me does, anyway. The rest of me knows that it would be very bad if she did, and that she wouldn't see me any differently than she does now.

Of all of the women I have known closely and intimately, she is the only one who has always been 100% honest and straight-forward (some would say blunt and tact-less, but I like that in a woman). So, I know she's not trying to butter me up for an affair. She is genuinely concerned about her marriage.

This is the plight of the "nice guy". I get to hear all about how miserable my female friends are, but as soon as they get out of whatever crazy relationship they are in, I'll be the last person they think of.

*Heavy sigh* Being nice sucks stinky ass.
