Head Rubs and Soothing Voices

There are certain people in this world who can soothe my brain and make me feel all sleepy and endorphine-y. Take for example the week I've been experiencing...

Since Sunday, I've been unable to get a full night's sleep. I go to sleep around 10:00pm, wake up around 2:00am and cannot get to sleep. The following night, I try going to bed a half-hoour earlier but that doesn't work either. I continue to wake-up at 2:00am again.

So with my job being as mentally taxing as possible, my brain is routinely drained by 3:00pm each weekday and my body is slowly shutting-down. So this afternoon, I am called into a meeting to listen to Collette, who is the VP of Operations or some such. I'm expecting it to be a total snooze but when she opens her mouth, the soft, fiftysomething light-as-air British accent comes rolling out. It relaxed me, soothed my body and in a hypnotic kind of way, made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Loretta had to kick me twice because she thought I was drifting-off and almost drooling. And, I listened to every word she said.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention this because sometimes when people speak, they make me feel like that. It's the same feeling as when someone gives you a slow, soothing head massage. It's utterly random and the accent doesn't matter.

There are other things I should mention but I'm just too tired. We made our Labour Day weekend plans and I'm looking forward to my time in Shelburne.

I also believe in ghosts.
