BACC Week One: Charron

May 17, 2015 20:16

Hey guys! I know this is the second post today, but I'm super excited about this.
I've decided to do a Build-A-City Challenge. I wasn't really satisfied with any of the rules I found so I've made my own using this and this as a base. I also got some inspiration from this TS2 version. Basically all careers and community lots are 'locked'. I have to meet certain goals to be able to build community lots and enter careers. I'm starting with a completely bulldozed map, in which I've set up two households. My goal is to reach a population of 50,000 (using the sim multiplier, if you're familiar with that), and unlock all there is to unlock. Additionally, I'm starting with some other restrictions that I need to remove by meeting certain goals. Those are: no electronics/plumbing (with a couple exceptions for necessities), no adoption service, no pizza delivery, and no maid service. That's a very basic summary of what I'm getting myself into.

Now that you've read that rather long-winded introduction, let's meet our first settler!

This is Shay Charron. I randomized her name and traits.
She is romantic, materialistic, and a perfectionist. Her aspiration is Party Animal.

Miss Charron started out with $13,000 to her name (a randomly rolled sum), with which I built this little house shack cottage. Whatever you want to call it.

Aerial view.

Very short tour of the living area, of which I am extremely proud.

The first order of business was to go collect various plants to start a garden with. I need to get Shay's garden skill to level 5 and that will unlock the park community lot. I'm also hoping she can save up enough by selling her produce to start a store of some type.

This pretty much sums up the majority of Shay's week.

Of course, she is a social creature, and thus wanted to go out and meet someone new. Enter Colin Thurston.

It just so happened Shay was in a flirty mood and really wanted to kiss someone.

Colin got invited back to the house, one thing lead to another...

And Shay got to break her bed in with Colin.

Back in the land of boring everyday life, Shay reads A LOT. Most likely because there is literally nothing else for her to do to keep entertained. In this particular instance she's actually reading a gardening book to up her skill, but usually she's quite fond of romances.

Shay: Lookin' good girl!

You may have noticed in the mini house tour that there was an easel in the corner. I ended up replacing it with a bonsai bush because Shay wanted one. Of course she immediately shaped it into a heart. The romantic trait is strong in this one.

Colin visited often. His visits mostly involved flirting, kissing, and woohoo, so this is the only pic I took to avoid being repetitive.

Shay's garden is thriving.

She even got her first harvest and made a bit of money.

This is William LeClerc, otherwise know as 'proof that Shay doesn't spend ALL her time with Colin'.

That's all for now. I know it's quite short, but nothing much really happened. I was focusing mostly on getting Shay's skills up and such, so there wasn't a lot to take pictures of without things getting repetitive. Next time I visit the Charron household I'll get started on finding a spouse and whatnot. In the meantime, I'm getting started with the second settler - Manno Boerio (his name was also random, in case you were wondering). So, you'll be seeing him next update.

Thanks for reading!
